The analysis and interpretation of somatosensory information are performed by a complex network of brain areas located mainly in the parietal cortex. Somatosensory deficits are therefore a common impairment following lesions of the parietal lobe. This chapter summarizes the clinical presentation, examination, prognosis, and therapy of sensory deficits,

The Politics of Deficits, the Deficits of Politics
2019Long-term fiscal reform raises difficult political problems, as discussed in this chapter. The benefits accrue mainly to people who aren’t old enough to vote currently, including those not even born yet. The costs—benefit cuts and tax increases—are easy to identify and they evoke harsh reactions from those who must burden. Public opinion is conflicted:

Primary attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a familial neurodevelopmental disorder involving the frontostriatal pathways and probably connections with the cerebellum and parietal lobe. ADHD is a polygenetic disorder involving predominantly catecholaminergic receptors and transporters.

Emotional responding in deficit and non-deficit schizophrenia
Psychiatry Research, 1999Although emotional dysfunction is presumed to be a central part of the deficit syndrome in schizophrenia, it has not yet been empirically investigated in deficit and non-deficit patients. Emotional responding was examined in 19 male deficit patients, 22 non-deficit patients, and 20 non-patient controls.

T HIS paper discusses briefly the development in diarrheal disease of deficits of body water and electrolyte on the one hand and of energy stores on the other, with the purpose of defining features of difference which have relevance to parenteral fluid therapy. Since water and the electrolytes are not destroyed within the body, they will serTe the body

Budget deficit persistence and the twin deficits hypothesis [PDF]
Abstract This paper gauges the twin deficits hypothesis, i.e. a positive causal relationship between the external and budget deficits. This relationship is measured by the responses of the external deficit to changes in the budget deficit induced by Blanchard's model.

This chapter begins with a discussion about the common characteristics of people with memory deficits resulting from brain injury followed by a description of a typical patient referred for memory rehabilitation. We then address some general principles to help people with memory deficits.
