Turning a new leaf: PhenoVision provides leaf phenology data at the global scale

open access: yesApplications in Plant Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Plant phenology dictates many aspects of community function and ecosystem dynamics. Yet, global phenology data are still limited, especially in areas lacking monitoring programs. Here we present a new data resource, PhenoVision–Leaf, which extends a computer vision pipeline utilizing iNaturalist digital image vouchers to produce global‐

Previously undocumented regional variability in crab‐eating macaque skull sexual dimorphism and its implications for biological and morphometric studies

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract In a large sample of adult crab‐eating macaques, we quantified sexual dimorphism in size, shape, and covariance across the whole skull and among anatomical regions of the cranium and mandible. All regions showed significant mean sex differences, but the magnitude of size and shape dimorphism varied substantially.

Coherence‐Gated Wrapped‐Phase InSAR With Matrix‐Based Uncertainty Diagnostics for Burial‐Mound Hotspot Ranking (Sicily, Italy)

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Burial mounds are key elements of Mediterranean funerary landscapes, but in intensively cultivated coastal plains their low‐relief expression is easily obscured by ploughing, levelling and rapidly changing surface conditions, making single‐date observations unreliable.

DECOMPOSITION OF INFLATION IN PAKISTAN AND ITS IMPLICATIONS FOR DIFFERENT INCOME QUINTILES

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Applied Economics
This study analyses the commodity group-wise composition of CPI inflation rate and its implications for different income groups in Pakistan during January 1997 to January 2024. It is found that food inflation is the major component of inflation, and its

Technique for Lateral Opening Wedge Distal Femoral Osteotomy Using Patient‐Specific Instrumentation for Genu Valgum and Patellar Instability

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Recurrent lateral patellar instability poses a technical challenge to orthopaedic surgeons. Isolated soft‐tissue procedures through medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction or lateral release show unacceptably high failure rates. Lateral opening wedge distal femoral osteotomy addresses underlying bony malalignment and reinforces the soft ...

Quantitative relationship between plume emission and multiple deflations after the 2014 phreatic eruption at Ontake volcano, Japan

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2019
The phreatic eruption of Mount Ontake in 2014 caused local-scale subsidence and a mass discharge of water–vapor plumes from vents. A previous study of InSAR data analysis modeled the local subsidence as a deflation of a shallow hydrothermal reservoir ...

Combined Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction and Lateral Extra‐articular Tenodesis With Augmented Continuous Iliotibial Band Autograft

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract The purpose of this technical note is to describe a reproducible surgical technique for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction combined with a lateral tenodesis using a continuous iliotibial band autograft that allows self‐augmentation of graft diameter without the need for additional tendon harvesting.

Drug‐coated balloons: From conventional designs to next‐generation innovations in vascular therapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
This review traces the evolution of drug‐coated balloons (DCBs) from conventional designs to next‐generation platforms. We highlight innovations in balloon engineering, coating technologies, and therapeutic agents that enhance localized drug delivery while addressing challenges in efficiency, safety, and biocompatibility for vascular and emerging non ...
