Magnetic Textiles: A Review of Materials, Fabrication, Properties, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Magnetic textiles (M‐textiles) are emerging as a programmable materials platform that merges magnetic matter with hierarchical textile structures. This article consolidates magnetic material classes, textile architectures, and fabrication and magnetization strategies, revealing structure–property–function relationships that govern magneto‐mechanical ...

An Implicit Registration Framework Integrating Kolmogorov–Arnold Networks with Velocity Regularization for Image-Guided Radiation Therapy

open access: yesBioengineering
In image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), deformable image registration between computed tomography (CT) and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images remain challenging due to the computational cost of iterative algorithms and the data dependence of ...

Direct Gravity‐Induced Modulation of Cardiac Conduction Pathways Evidenced Through Propagation Features in Electrophysiological Mapping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A high‐density wearable body‐surface potential mapping array reveals how gravity reshapes cardiac conduction in real time. By resolving spatiotemporal delay patterns invisible to conventional ECG, the platform uncovers posture‐dependent electrophysiological adaptations across the thorax.

A Robust and Accurate Non-rigid Medical Image Registration Algorithm Based on Multi-level Deformable Model

open access: yesIranian Journal of Public Health, 2017
Background: Compared to the rigid image registration task, the non-rigid image registration task faces much more challenges due to its high degree of freedom and inherent requirement of smoothness in the deformation field.

Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.

A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

Implicit Neural Representations for Deformable Image Registration.

open access: yesProceedings of Machine Learning Research, 2022
Deformable medical image registration has in past years been revolutionized by the use of convolutional neural networks. These methods surpass conventional image registration techniques in speed but not in accuracy. Here, we present an alternative approach to leveraging neural networks for image registration.

A Multidirectional Textile Interface for Remote Control Using Dynamic Area‐Based Capacitance Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Here, we present a textile, wearable capacitive interface enabling multidirectional remote control by dynamically modulating electrode overlap and spacing via a freely gliding upper electrode. A forearm‐mounted prototype drives robotic and media tasks with 12–15 ms latency, maintains < 0.8% drift after 500 cycles, and remains stably functional at 90 ...

3D‐Nanoprinted Fluidically Steerable Soft Robotic Microcatheters

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work introduces a ∼3‐French (1 mm‐in‐diameter) soft robotic microcatheter fabricated by means of two‐photon direct laser writing. The 3D‐printed microcatheter enables remote, on‐demand steering via microfluidic actuation for guidewire‐free navigation of vascular networks as well as microcatheter‐mediated delivery of fluidic payloads to target ...
