High‐Performance Self‐Powered Sensing System for Power Grid Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 5, Issue 3, March 2026.
This study presents a lateral swing electromagnetic generator (LS‐EMG) for harvesting overhead transmission line vibration energy. With a compact 24.32 cm3 volume, it achieves 2.28 mW output power and 93.75 µW/cm3 power density. A self‐powered wireless sensor system was developed using this generator, enabling real‐time temperature and humidity ...

Global Climatic Zones in the Last Glacial Maximum Estimated From Assimilated Temperature Data

open access: yesAtmospheric Science Letters, Volume 27, Issue 3, March 2026.
This study estimated Global Climatic Zones (GCZs) during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) using assimilated temperature data and the k‐means++ machine learning method for enhanced objectivity. Present‐day GCZ boundaries were determined and then applied to the LGM data, which was 6°C cooler globally. Results showed all LGM zones shifted toward the equator,

Stagewise crop yield prediction with multisource functional indices

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, Volume 54, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract Index insurance design involves integrating weather data, soil moisture, phenology information, and satellite imagery, which presents challenges in data fusion. This article addresses the modelling of multisource functional indices of varying lengths by constructing a stagewise ensemble of sequential models.
