Monitoring the Earth's deformation with the SPOTGINS series

open access: yesEarth System Science Data
Abstract. A distributed Global Navigation Satellite System analysis center, designated SPOTGINS, has been established by several research groups that utilize the GINS software and the CNES-CLS precise products. Despite the heterogeneity in their research objectives, the SPOTGINS members apply the same configuration and metadata.

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Monitoring surface deformation of the Qinghai–Tibet permafrost region using an improved MT-InSAR method based on spatial–temporal constraints

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Earth
Monitoring ongoing permafrost degradation on the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau is challenging because of its underground characteristics. Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) technology, which can detect large-scale and high-precision surface ...

Nondestructive Testing of Welded Composite Metal Foams

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
X‐ray computed tomography (CT) is used to evaluate welded steel–steel composite metal foam (CMF) joints of two density classes. It reports variation in postweld spatial void distribution and correlates it to weld‐induced changes, mechanical performance, and failure within welded CMF panels.

Real-time filtering and application of landslide GNSS deformation data based on dynamic frequency conversion

open access: yesZhongguo dizhi zaihai yu fangzhi xuebao
GNSS deformation monitoring devices are crucial ground monitoring tools for capturing multi-directional landslide deformations and their development trends. However, precision and random errors during monitoring often leads to significant fluctuations in

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Compatibility of Methacrylate Based Resins Controls Interfacial Failure and Toughness in 3D‐Printed Multimaterial Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

Experimental and Numerical Modal Analysis of Composite Sandwich Structures Using Surfboards as Model Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents an experimental and numerical modal investigation of composite sandwich structures using surfboards as model systems. By comparing different core materials and reinforcement strategies, the study demonstrates how local stiffeners influence vibrational response and introduce characteristic modal features, highlighting modal ...

Integration of InSAR time series analysis and water vapour correction for mapping postseismic deformation after the 2003 Bam (Iran) Earthquake [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Atmospheric water-vapor effects represent a major limitation of interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) techniques, including InSAR time-series (TS) approaches (e.g., persistent or permanent scatterers and small-baseline subset).

Geographic mapping model for underground structural deformation monitoring

open access: yesGeomatics, Natural Hazards & Risk, 2014
Underground structural deformation occurs because of the complex effects of the internal and external environments and it needs to undergo regional coverage deformation monitoring to realize the early warning of natural hazards.
