Discontinuous GBSAR deformation monitoring [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, 2014
This paper is focused on deformation monitoring using the Ground-Based SAR (GBSAR) technique and a particular data acquisition configuration, which is called discontinuous GBSAR (D-GBSAR). In the most commonly used GBSAR configuration, the radar is left installed in situ, acquiring data periodically, e.g. every few minutes.

Deformation Monitoring by GPS at Embankment Dams and Deformation Analysis

Survey Review, 2009
AbstractDeformation measurements are very important for inspecting huge engineering structures in order to prevent disasters caused by deformation and thus protect national investment. These measurements require the use of very accurate surveying equipment.

Monitoring mining induced surface deformation

IEEE International IEEE International IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2004. IGARSS '04. Proceedings. 2004, 2004
There exists a significant demand for the monitoring of mining induced surface deformation for legal obligation safety, and environmental reasons. In recent years land surface deformation monitoring with SAR data reached some maturity. Nevertheless, there remain important limitations to the availability of the EO based information.

Deformation monitoring using the ALOS/PALSAR

2009 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2009
Because of the higher interferometric coherence, ALOS/PALSAR data are often used for monitoring the deformation caused by the disaster events (i.e., earthquakes, volcanoes, land subsidence by water and oil pumping, land slide, etc) using the interferometric data analysis.

Microseismic Deformation Rate Monitoring

Proceedings, 2009
Microseismic monitoring of hydraulic fractures is an important tool for imaging fracture networks and optimizing the reservoir engineering of the stimulation. The range of magnitudes of the recorded microseisms depends at the lower limit on the array sensitivity; while the upper limit varies significantly from site to site.

Monitoring of Volcano deformation

2022
Monitoring ground surface deformation is an essential component of volcano monitoring, along with other techniques, such as seismology, geochemistry and geology. This chapter presents the different sources at the origin of the deformation observed in a volcanic context, followed by a review of the various techniques used for measuring such deformation.

Deformation Detection in Structural Health Monitoring

2011
In this contribution the issue of the embedded monitoring and detection of structural unhealthy conditions is addressed. The recent work on the design of a self-organizing architecture of sensing/communication nodes able to monitor the topological modification of structural surfaces is reviewed.

Practical Monitoring of Seafloor Deformations

Second EAGE Workshop Practical Reservoir Monitoring 2019, 2019
Summary Deformation data are useful to constrain reservoir and geomechanical models and for understanding issues related to the stability of wells and seafloor infrastructure. A number of techniques are now available in offshore environments for monitoring seafloor deformations that provide frequent and/or continuous areal measurements of seafloor ...
