Tuning deformation behavior via controlled α precipitation in ω-enriched metastable β titanium alloys

open access: yesMaterials & Design
The deformation behavior of a metastable β-type Ti-12Mo-1Al (wt.%) model alloy was investigated in three aged states with varying α precipitation: (i) α-free, (ii) α-lean, and (iii) α-dominated.

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Experimental and modeling study of salt rock creep behavior under loading and unloading history

open access: yes工程科学学报
The influence of loading and unloading history on creep deformation suggests that the cyclic stress environment in underground engineering (e.g.: excavation, backfilling, and unloading) can significantly impact the long-term stability of salt rock.

Noncommutative Deformation of Optical States

open access: yes
In this paper, we study the noncommutative deformation of different optical states. We develop the deformed coherent state by using the raising and lowering operators of the quantum harmonic oscillator. This helps us to investigate the noncommutative deformation of a squeezed state in terms of noncommutative parameter, which in turn leads to the ...

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Level of adaptability of five conic map projection variants on Macedonian national area as state map projection [PDF]

open access: yesMicro, Macro & Mezzo Geoinformation, 2018
Nowadays a large number of cartographic projections are used for many purposes; some of them are utilized as cartographic state projections. In the Republic of Macedonia the Gauss-Krüger projection is in use as official state cartographic projection ...

A novel viscoplastic model for salt rock deformation under internal cyclic gas pressure loading

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining Science and Technology
Salt caverns are widely used for energy storage. During gas storage, the internal gas pressure fluctuates cyclically in response to energy demand, making it essential to assess how these pressure variations affect rock deformation.

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Performance Analysis of Bimodulus Frame Structures Based on Deformation Energy Decomposition Method

open access: yesBioResources
Some biological materials have bimodulus properties. The elastic modulus in the tensile state is different from its value in the compressive state.
