Enhanced analysis of gating latency in 0.35T MR‐linac through innovative time synchronization of a motion phantom and plastic scintillation detector

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study aims to evaluate how different gantry angles, breathing rates (BPM), cine image speeds, and tracking algorithms affect beam on/off latency and the subsequent impact on target dose for a 0.35T MR‐Linac with a 6 MV FFF beam.

Deformations of special Legendrian submanifolds in Sasaki-Einstein manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesMath. Z. 283 (2016), no. 3-4, 2013
In this paper we study the deformation theory of submanifolds characterized by a system of differential forms and provide a criterion for deformations of such submanifolds to be unobstructed. We apply this deformation theory to special Legendrian submanifolds in Sasaki-Einstein manifolds. In general, special Legendrian deformations have the obstruction.

How the neck affects the back: changes in regional cervical sagittal alignment correlate to HRQOL improvement in adult thoracolumbar deformity patients at 2-year follow-up.

open access: yesJournal of Neurosurgery : Spine, 2015
OBJECT Regional cervical sagittal alignment (C2-7 sagittal vertical axis [SVA]) has been shown to correlate with health-related quality of life (HRQOL).

Deformations of Diagrams

open access: yes, 2014
In this this paper we introduce entanglement among the points in a non-commutative scheme, in addition to the tangent directions. A diagram of $A$-modules is a pair $\uc=(|\uc|, )$ where $|\uc|={V_1,...,V_r}$ is a set of $A$-modules, and $ =\{ _{ij}(l)\}$ is a set of $A$-module homomorphisms $ _{ij}(l):V_i\rightarrow V_j$, seen as the 0'th order ...

Deforming diamond

open access: yesIMA Journal of Applied Mathematics, 2016
For materials science, diamond crystals are almost unrivaled for hardness and a range of other properties. Yet, when simply abstracting the carbon bonding structure as a geometric bar-and-joint periodic framework, it is far from rigid. We study the geometric deformations of this type of framework in arbitrary dimension d, with particular regard to the ...

Dosimetric evaluation and clinical application of collimated apertures with proton beam line scanning in stereotactic radiotherapy

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) is a highly effective treatment with precision for small, localized lesions. Proton therapy, characterized by the Bragg peak, offers superior dose conformity compared to photon‐based approaches. However, challenges remain in minimizing lateral penumbra and optimizing dose delivery, particularly for small

Deformable classifiers

open access: yesQuarterly of Applied Mathematics, 2019
Geometric variations of objects, which do not modify the object class, pose a major challenge for object recognition. These variations could be rigid as well as non-rigid transformations. In this paper, we design a framework for training deformable classifiers, where latent transformation variables are introduced, and a transformation of the object ...

Impact of respiratory motion on dose distribution in SIB‐SBRT for lung cancer

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Respiratory motion is a major source of dose uncertainty in lung cancer radiotherapy. The dose distribution of simultaneous integrated boost‐stereotactic body radiotherapy (SIB‐SBRT) is inhomogeneous and is significantly impacted by respiratory motion for lung cancer. The effect of respiratory motion on SIB‐SBRT was investigated with a

Deformation of singularities via $L_\infty$-algebras [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2004
This is an addendum to the paper ``Deformation of $L_\infty$-Algebras'' of the same author. We explain in which way the deformation theory of $L_\infty$-algebras extends the deformation theory of singularities. We show that the construction of semi-universal deformations of $L_\infty$-algebras gives explicit formal semi-universal deformations of ...

UDP‐glucose dehydrogenase variants cause dystroglycanopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Abstract UDP‐glucose dehydrogenase (UGDH) variants have been associated with hypotonia, developmental delay, and epilepsy. We report the first pathologic evidence of dystroglycanopathy in siblings with UGDH variants. Both presented around 6 months with developmental delay and elevated creatinine kinase.
