Axial deformations: an intuitive deformation technique
Computer-Aided Design, 1994The purpose of this paper is to define a deformation technique called axial deformation (AxDf) which makes use of a 3D axis for deforming existing objects. The technique developed here allows deformations such as bending, scaling, twisting and stretching. Some application for both modelling and animating red fish is given in this paper.

A unique specimen of unilateral Sprengel's deformity, and contralateral normal pectoral girdle, were studied morphologically and roentgenographically. The cervical spine exhibited multiple abnormalities involving both the vertebral centra as well as the posterior elements (Klippel-Feil abnormality). A small spina bifida involving C5 and C6 was present.

Facial analysis for chin deformities evaluates the perioral structures independently and their relationship to the entire face. Chin deformities in the absence of malocclusion can be treated by a genioplasty. Patient evaluation and preoperative planning and the operative technique for an osseogenioplasty are outlined with clinical reports to illustrate.

T HE successfu1 repair of deformities of the hand is contingent on: (I) thorough study and evaIuation of the abnormaIity; (2) definite pIanning of each procedure; (3) the conservation of a11 avaiIabIe tissue; (4) prevention, if possibIe, of any Ioss of tissue; and (5) sufficient time intervaIs between surgica1 procedures.

The patient is a 39-year-old woman who presented nocturnal paresthesia lasting for 6 months on both hands, but predominantly right (dominant hand). She presented mechanical pain of both wrists, with a visual analog score (VAS) of 90/100. Upon examination, there was a solid tumor on the posterior side of both wrists (Fig.
