Coronal Correction for Severe Deformity Using Robotic-Assisted Total Knee Arthroplasty
The journal of knee surgery, 2017Although robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty (TKA) has the potential to accurately reproduce neutral alignment, it is still unclear if this correction is attainable in patients who have severe varus or valgus deformities.

Geometry of the Valgus Knee: Contradicting the Dogma of a Femoral-Based Deformity
American Journal of Sports Medicine, 2017Background: Realignment osteotomies of valgus knee deformities are usually performed at the distal femur, as valgus alignment is considered to be a femoral-based deformity. This dogma, however, has not been proven in a large patient population.

A unique specimen of unilateral Sprengel's deformity, and contralateral normal pectoral girdle, were studied morphologically and roentgenographically. The cervical spine exhibited multiple abnormalities involving both the vertebral centra as well as the posterior elements (Klippel-Feil abnormality). A small spina bifida involving C5 and C6 was present.

Deformities are important markers for congenital and hereditary neuromuscular disorders. For example, kyphosis, scoliosis, and pes cavus are common in Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease and hereditary ataxias. Deformities such as high feet arches may also result from long-time weakness and asymmetry.
