Non-translation-invariant defuzzification
Proceedings of 6th International Fuzzy Systems Conference, 2002Conventional fuzzy controllers are employed for the purpose of designing nonlinear key field controllers. Fuzzy control methods utilise existing qualitative know-how or experience to find favourable key field controllers. However, some empirical knowledge cannot be processed adequately employing known fuzzy controllers.

New control algorithm and defuzzification
2009 3rd International Workshop on Soft Computing Applications, 2009Fuzzy defuzzification is one of the most important part of the fuzzy control. Several approaches exist. Mamdani uses the a-cuts and builds the union of the membership function. The resulted function is the starting point of the defuzzification process. In this article we define more natural way to get the membership function by using fuzzy arithmetics.

Partial Defuzzification of Fuzzy Clusters
2002Two methods of partial defuzzification of fuzzy clusters in a fuzzy k-partition are proposed. The first method is based on sharpening of fuzzy clusters with respect to the threshold 1/k. Sharpening is accomplished by application of the generalized operator of contrast intensification of fuzzy sets to k — 1 fuzzy clusters. The second method utilizes the

Membership Functions, Fuzzification and Defuzzification
2000Fuzzy membership functions represent similarities of objects to ambiguous properties. All the information represented by a fuzzy set is contained within the membership function. This chapter summaries some methods to develop membership functions, briefly discusses the process of fuzzification (making crisp sets into fuzzy sets), and illustrates a few ...
