DNA‐mimic for Specific Surface Functionalization of Zr‐MOFs for Bacterial Targeting

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We introduce phosphotyrosine‐modified PNA as a superior, single‐step post‐synthesis surface coating for PCN‐222. The DNA mimic allows for controlled post‐functionalization with single‐stranded DNA for the attachment of protein moieties for bacterial targeting. ABSTRACT Nanosized metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are versatile platforms used in biomedical

Inviscid Burgers as a degenerate elliptic problem

open access: yes
We demonstrate the feasibility of a scheme to obtain approximate weak solutions to the (inviscid) Burgers equation in conservation and Hamilton-Jacobi form, treated as degenerate elliptic problems.

Biomimetic 3D Tactile Sensor System With Neuromorphic Encoding for Fascicle‐Level Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A 3D biomimetic tactile sensor system converts skin‐like mechanical interactions into neural stimulation‐ready spike patterns. Embedded slow‐ and fast‐adapting sensors distinguish sustained pressure from transient touch, while neuromorphic encoding preserves their temporal signatures.

Design Guidelines for Anode Modifications to Eliminate Soft Short Circuits in Anode‐Free Na Batteries Under High Current Density With Large‐Capacity Plating, Demonstrated via Initiated Chemical Vapor Deposition (iCVD)

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This work establishes a laterally homogeneous organic–inorganic hybrid interphase for soft‐short‐free anode‐free sodium metal batteries under extended cycling at high current density and high plating capacity. In contrast to conventional strategies that evolve into laterally heterogeneous interphases and induce localized Na filament growth, the pDFHA ...

High‐elevation endemic plants predicted to lose habitat from changing climate in Washington State

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise High‐elevation plants face unique challenges from potential climate change impacts that will likely require upslope migration into increasingly smaller suitable habitat. This situation is particularly acute for endemic species that by definition occupy small geographic ranges.

Assessing the Feasibility of Wearable Devices for Physiological Monitoring and Heat Risk Prediction in Outdoor Agricultural Workers

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Industrial Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Outdoor agricultural workers experience significant heat exposure, yet few studies have evaluated whether wearable sensors can reliably measure continuous physiological responses in real field conditions. This pilot study examined the feasibility and predictive utility of core temperature, hydration, heart rate, and movement data ...
