The physics of the degenerate four-wave mixing process for resonant transitions between two degenerate energy levels is investigated by direct numerical integration of the time-dependent density matrix equations. The Zeeman structure of the upper and lower energy levels is included in a multistate formulation of the density matrix equations.

Abstract Thermochemical cycle is a promising way for hydrogen production. Although the Gibbs free energy function has been used to assess thermochemical cycle reactions, it is difficult to explain exergy transfer and degeneration. There is no universal principle to explain the mechanism of triggering an endothermic reaction from the viewpoint of ...

Patients with skipped-level disk degeneration (SLDD) were recently reported as having a higher prevalence of Schmorl's nodes than patients with contiguous multi-level disk degeneration (CMDD). Fourteen versions of a nonlinear finite element model of a lumbar spine, representing different patterns of single and multi-level disk degeneration, were ...

The effect of quantum noise on the energy degeneration in a dissipative quantum two-level system
Chemical Physics Letters, 2001Abstract The influence of noise on the energy degeneration in a periodically driven two-state system is discussed. It is shown that the degenerate energy level of the system, split by an external monochromatic field, can be restored to the degenerate state by appropriate noise.
