Abstract Background Ultrasonography (US) and 99mTechnetium‐sestamibi scintigraphy (99mTc‐MIBI) are currently first‐line imaging modalities to localize parathyroid adenomas with sensitivities of 80% and 84%, respectively. Therefore, finding other modalities to further improve the diagnostic accuracy for preoperative localization is critically needed ...

Deformed Oscillators with Two Double (Pairwise) Degeneracies of Energy Levels
A scheme is proposed which allows to obtain special $q$-oscillator models whose characteristic feature consists in possessing two differing pairs of degenerate energy levels.

Open quantum systems with nearly degenerate energy levels have been shown to exhibit long-lived metastable states in the approach to equilibrium, even when modelled with certain Lindblad-form quantum master equations.

Valley Degenerate 2D Electrons in the Lowest Landau Level [PDF]
We report low temperature magnetotransport measurements on a high mobility (\mu=325,000 cm^2/V sec) 2D electron system on a H-terminated Si(111) surface. While low magnetic field data indicate a six-fold valley degenerate system, we observe the integral quantum Hall effect at all filling factors \nu<=6 and find that \nu=2 develops in an unusually ...

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...

The multilevel pairing Hamiltonian versus the degenerate case [PDF]
We study the pairing Hamiltonian in a set of non degenerate levels. First, we review in the path integral framework the spontaneous breaking of the U(1) symmetry occurring in such a system for the degenerate situation. Then the behaviors with the coupling constant of the ground state energy in the multilevel and in the degenerate case are compared ...

The Saccharomyces cerevisiae amino acid transporter Lyp1 has a broad substrate spectrum
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Yeast Amino acid Transporter family members mediate the import of amino acids, ranging from substrate specialists to generalists. Here, we show that the specialist transporter, Lyp1, has a broader substrate spectrum than previously described, with affinity constants spanning from micromolar to millimolar.

Abstract Purpose The aim of this work was to evaluate the SunCHECK PerFRACTION, the software for in vivo monitoring using EPID images. Materials/Methods First, the PerFRACTION ability to detect errors was investigated simulating two situations: (1) variation of LINAC output and (2) variation of the phantom thickness.
