Chitosan‐Silanized Hexagonal Boron Nitride Nanocomposite Films and Properties

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this study, chitosan‐silanized hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) nanocomposite films were developed using the solution casting method. Unlike chitosan‐hBN studies, silanization of hBN with Vinyl trimethoxy silane (VTS) formed hydrogen bonds. In the swelling ratio, an improvement of 18.6% was observed with the addition of hBN compared to pure ...

Moving From Micro‐ to Nanofibers Within Melt Electrospinning

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Controlling flow rate enables production of more nanofibers. This can be achieved even when electrospinning from viscous melts in a simple two‐plate geometry. Finding the optimal melt thickness to reduce flow without lowering the number of fiber‐forming jets is key.

Impurity Band Formation as a Route to Thermoelectric Power Factor Enhancement in n‐type XNiSn Half‐Heuslers

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
A new route to improve the power factor of n‐type XNiSn half‐Heusler thermoelectrics is demonstrated. This relies on the alignment of host and impurity bands arising from Cu dopants. The effect is strongest near room temperature and substantially improves the performance.

Ferroelectric Control of Anisotropic Magnetoresistance in Ultrathin Sr2IrO4 Films toward 2D Metallic Limit

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Interfacing ferroelectric PbZr0.2Ti0.8O3 with ultrathin Sr2IrO4 tunes the antiferromagnetic Mott insulator into a 2D correlated metal. Switching the ferroelectric polarization induces nonvolatile, reversible resistance modulation in Sr2IrO4. The magnetoresisance in the heterostructure reveals the intriguing interplay of interfacial lattice coupling ...

Exploring developmental changes in femoral midneck cross‐sectional properties

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
The properties of femoral midneck cross‐sections exhibit a unique growth pattern that is characterized by shape changes during adolescence. Abstract This research delves deeper into previous works on femoral cross‐sectional properties during ontogeny by focusing for the first time on the human femoral midneck. The ontogenetic pattern of cross‐sectional
