Correlation of Band Bending and Ionic Losses in 1.68 eV Wide Band Gap Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Piperazinium salt treatments with different anions (chloride, iodide, tosylate, and bistriflimide) influence the energetics, carrier dynamics and long‐term stability of 1.68 eV perovskite solar cells. Chloride treatments achieve the highest efficiency (21.5%) but suffer from fast degradation due to ionic losses.

Influence of geometrical manufacturing tolerances on lithium‐ion battery performance

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 46, Issue 15, Page 23824-23838, December 2022., 2022
The influence of electrode coating thickness, calendaring and electrode cutting tolerance on lithium‐ion battery capacity, energy, resistance and voltage relaxation is investigated through a numerical model. Electrode cutting tolerance has the largest affect upon cell performance characteristics, with calendaring tolerance predominantly affecting the ...

The classical solvability for a one-dimensional nonlinear thermoelasticity system with the far field degeneracy

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies
We study the local classical solvability of the Cauchy problem to the equations of one-dimensional nonlinear thermoelasticity. The governing model is a coupled system of a nonlinear hyperbolic equation for the displacement and a parabolic equation for ...

Tailoring the Electron and Phonon Transport in Metavalently Bonded GeTe by Stepwise Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that the intrinsic physical properties of a material can provide more fundamental guidance for optimizing thermoelectric performance. A stepwise doping strategy is proposed to sequentially improve the intrinsic physical properties of GeTe, ultimately leading to a high ZT of 2.2 at 773 K through doping with Cd, Cu, and Pb ...

A semi‐implicit finite volume scheme for a simplified hydrostatic model for fluid‐structure interaction

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, Volume 95, Issue 1, Page 107-142, January 2023., 2023
In this article, a novel mass and momentum conservative semi‐implicit finite volume scheme is developed for the coupled solution of hydrostatic shallow water flow and the movement of one or more floating rigid bodies. The coupling is achieved via a nonlinear volume function in the mass conservation equation that depends on the coordinates of the ...

Swarm‐Optimized ZnO/CdS/CIGS/GaAs Solar Cell for Enhanced Efficiency and Thermal Resilience

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
This article addresses the problem of optimizing the efficiency and thermal resilience of ZnO/CdS/CIGS solar cells, which are promising but still face challenges in maximizing performance under high‐temperature conditions and concentrated sunlight. The main issue is enhancing the efficiency of these cells while also ensuring that they can withstand the

An immersed boundary vector potential‐vorticity meshless solver of the incompressible Navier–Stokes equation

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, Volume 95, Issue 1, Page 143-175, January 2023., 2023
We present a new strong‐form meshless solver combined with the boundary condition‐enforced immersed boundary method for the numerical solution of the nonstationary, incompressible, viscous Navier–Stokes equations in their stream function‐vorticity (in 2D) and vector potential‐vorticity (in 3D) formulation.

Large time behavior of solution to a class of doubly nonlinear parabolic equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 1994
solutions of the doubly degenerate parabolic equation $u_t={ m div} (|u|^{m-1}|abla u|^{p-2}abla u)$ in a cylinder $Omegaimes R^+$, with initial condition $u(x,0)=u_0(x)$ in $Omega$ and vanishing on the parabolic boundary $partialOmegaimes R^+$.
