An inverse backward problem for degenerate two-dimensional parabolic equation [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2020
This paper deals with the determination of an initial condition in the degenerate two-dimensional parabolic equation \[\partial_{t}u-\mathrm{div}\left(a(x,y)I_2\nabla u\right)=f,\quad (x,y)\in\Omega,\; t\in(0,T),\] where \(\Omega\) is an open, bounded ...

On the Cauchy Problem for a Degenerate Parabolic Equation

open access: yesZeitschrift für Analysis und ihre Anwendungen, 2001
Existence and uniqueness of global positive solutions to the degenerate parabolic problem u_t = f(u)\Delta u \ \ \mathrm {in} \ \ \mathbb R^n \times (0, \infty) u|_{t=0} = u–0 with

Melt Grafting of Geometry‐Tailored Voltage Stabilizers for High‐Performance Polypropylene Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable one‐step melt grafting strategy is developed to enhance the dielectric properties of isotactic polypropylene by covalently incorporating thermally stable aromatic voltage stabilizers. This solvent‐free approach improves volume resistivity and DC breakdown strength through deep trap formation and charge localization, offering a sustainable ...

On the Tonelli method for the degenerate parabolic Cauchy problem with functional argument [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2014
The degenerate parabolic Cauchy problem is considered. A functional argument in the equation is of the Hale type. As a limit of piecewise classical solutions we obtain a viscosity solution of the main problem. Presented method is an adaptation of Tonelli'

Role of Histidine‐Containing Peptoids in Accelerating the Kinetics of Calcite Growth

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Amphiphilic histidine‐containing peptoids mimic carbonic anhydrase (CA) to accelerate calcite step growth. In the presence of Zn2+, they promote the deprotonation of HCO3−, the desolvation of Ca2+, and the reorganization of interfacial hydration layers, thereby reducing the activation barrier for calcite growth.

Parabolic Nonlinear Second Order Slip Reynolds Equation: Approximation and Existence

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2007
This work studies an initial boundary value problem for nonlinear degenerate parabolic equation issued from a lubrication slip model. Existence of solutions is established through a semi discrete scheme approximation combined with some a priori estimates.

Regularity of a degenerate parabolic equation appearing in Vecer's unified pricing of Asian options

open access: yes, 2015
Vecer derived a degenerate parabolic equation with a boundary condition characterizing the price of Asian options with generally sampled average. It is well understood that there exists a unique probabilistic solution to such a problem but it remained ...

On some degenerate non-local parabolic equation associated with the fractional $p$-Laplacian [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We consider a degenerate parabolic equation associated with the fractional $% p $-Laplace operator $\left( -\Delta \right) _{p}^{s}$\ ($p\geq 2$, $s\in \left( 0,1\right) $) and a monotone perturbation growing like $\left\vert s\right\vert ^{q-2}s,$ $q>p$

The cauchy problem of a degenerate parabolic equation

open access: yesMonatshefte fr Mathematik, 1977
This note is concerned with the existence of a weak solution for a degenerate Cauchy problem of parabolic type in then-dimensional spaceRn. The degenerate property is in the sense that the matrix (aij(t,x)) involved in the differential operator is not necessarily positive definite.
