Convergence analysis of domain decomposition based time integrators for degenerate parabolic equations

open access: yes, 2017
Domain decomposition based time integrators allow the usage of parallel and distributed hardware, making them well-suited for the temporal discretization of parabolic systems, in general, and degenerate parabolic problems, in particular.

Classical solvability of multidimensional two-phase Stefan problem for degenerate parabolic equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We prove locally in time the existence of a smooth solution for multidimensional two-phase Stefan problem for degenerate parabolic equations of the porous medium type. We establish also natural H\"{o}lder class for the boundary conditions in the Cauchy-Dirichlet problem for a degenerate parabolic equation.

On some degenerate non-local parabolic equation associated with the fractional $p$-Laplacian [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We consider a degenerate parabolic equation associated with the fractional $% p $-Laplace operator $\left( -\Delta \right) _{p}^{s}$\ ($p\geq 2$, $s\in \left( 0,1\right) $) and a monotone perturbation growing like $\left\vert s\right\vert ^{q-2}s,$ $q>p$

Ontologies for FAIR Data in Additive Manufacturing: A Use Case‐Based Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An ontology‐based approach for generating findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable data in additive manufacturing is explored, focusing on powder bed fusion. The article highlights the benefits of enhanced data findability and digital twin enablement, while addressing challenges like data integration complexity and the need for specialized ...

REGULARITY AND FRACTAL DIMENSION OF PULLBACK ATTRACTORS FOR A NON-AUTONOMOUS SEMILINEAR DEGENERATE PARABOLIC EQUATION

open access: yesGlasgow Mathematical Journal, 2013
Considered here is the pullback attractor of the process associated with the first initial boundary value problem for the non-autonomous semilinear degenerate parabolic equation \begin{linenomath} u_t-\text{div}(\sigma(x)\nabla u)+f(u)=g(x,t) \end ...

Periodic solutions for a degenerate parabolic equation

open access: yesApplied Mathematics Letters, 2009
AbstractIn this work, we establish the existence of nontrivial nonnegative periodic solutions for a class of degenerate parabolic equations with nonlocal terms. The key is the using of Moser’s iteration technique and the theory of the Leray–Schauder degree.

Material Challenges and Alloy Selection for Particle/s‐CO2 Heat Exchangers in Concentrated Solar Power Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Combining supercritical CO2 (s‐CO2) cycles with particle‐based heat transfer media holds great potential in concentrated solar power plants but poses enormous material challenges. The particle/s‐CO2 heat exchanger must withstand extreme conditions, including high temperatures, pressures, CO2 corrosion, and erosion.

On the Tonelli method for the degenerate parabolic Cauchy problem with functional argument [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2014
The degenerate parabolic Cauchy problem is considered. A functional argument in the equation is of the Hale type. As a limit of piecewise classical solutions we obtain a viscosity solution of the main problem. Presented method is an adaptation of Tonelli'

Coefficient inverse problem for the strongly degenerate parabolic equation

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2023
The coefficient inverse problem for the degenerate parabolic equation is investigated. The minor coefficient of this equation is the polynomial of the first power with respect to the space variable with two unknown time-dependent functions.

An inverse backward problem for degenerate two-dimensional parabolic equation [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2020
This paper deals with the determination of an initial condition in the degenerate two-dimensional parabolic equation \[\partial_{t}u-\mathrm{div}\left(a(x,y)I_2\nabla u\right)=f,\quad (x,y)\in\Omega,\; t\in(0,T),\] where \(\Omega\) is an open, bounded ...
