Mixed problems for degenerate abstract parabolic equations and applications [PDF]
Degenerate abstract parabolic equations with variable coefficients are studied. Here the boundary conditions are nonlocal. The maximal regularity properties of solutions for elliptic and parabolic problems and Strichartz type estimates in mixed $L_{p ...

Bioprosthetic aortic valves have revolutionized the treatment of aortic stenosis, but their durability is limited by structural valve deterioration (SVD). This review focuses on the pericardial tissue at the heart of these valves, examining how its mechanical properties and calcification drive fatigue and failure.

Slightly Compressible Forchheimer Flows in Rotating Porous Media
We formulate the the generalized Forchheimer equations for the three-dimensional fluid flows in rotating porous media. By implicitly solving the momentum in terms of the pressure's gradient, we derive a degenerate parabolic equation for the density in ...

Cuttlebone‐inspired metamaterials exploit a septum‐wall architecture to achieve excellent mechanical and functional properties. This review classifies existing designs into direct biomimetic, honeycomb‐type, and strut‐type architectures, summarizes governing design principles, and presents a decoupled design framework for interpreting multiphysical ...

On a degenerate parabolic equation from double phase convection
The initial-boundary value problem of a degenerate parabolic equation arising from double phase convection is considered. Let a ( x ) $a(x)$ and b ( x ) $b(x)$ be the diffusion coefficients corresponding to the double phase respectively.

A strongly degenerate parabolic aggregation equation [PDF]
This paper is concerned with a strongly degenerate convection-diffusion equation in one space dimension whose convective flux involves a non-linear function of the total mass to one side of the given position. This equation can be understood as a model of aggregation of the individuals of a population with the solution representing their local density.

The hidden role of Cd segregation at grain boundaries is revealed in p‐type Mg3Sb2 by atom probe tomography and other advanced characterizations. Grain boundary Cd enrichment suppresses the SbMg+ hole‐killer formation and lowers potential barriers, enhancing electrical conductivity.

Quasiconformal mappings and degenerate elliptic and parabolic equations
In this paper two Harnak inequalities are proved concerning a degenerate elliptic and a degenerate parabolic equation. In both cases the weight giving the degeneracy is a power of the jacobian of a quasiconformal mapping.
