Link Between Geometrical and Physical Property Changes Along Nankai Trough With Slow Earthquake Activity Revealed by Dense Reflection Survey

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 51, Issue 8, 28 April 2024.
Abstract We examined the possible factors affecting the spatial distribution of very low frequency earthquakes and tremors in the shallow megathrust of Nankai Trough (<30 km) using a dense network of prestack depth migrated profiles at the frontal wedge. Geometrical parameters examined were decollement roughness, taper angle, and underthrust thickness.

Time‐lapse applications of the Marchenko method on the Troll field

open access: yesGeophysical Prospecting, Volume 72, Issue 3, Page 1026-1036, March 2024.
Abstract The data‐driven Marchenko method is able to redatum wavefields to arbitrary locations in the subsurface, and can, therefore, be used to isolate zones of specific interest. This creates a new reflection response of the target zone without interference from over‐ or underburden reflectors.

Focal deblending: Marine data processing experiences

open access: yesGeophysical Prospecting, Volume 72, Issue 2, Page 333-352, February 2024.
Abstract In contrast to conventional acquisition practices, simultaneous source acquisition allows for overlapping wavefields to be recorded. Relaxing the shot schedule in this manner has certain advantages, such as allowing for faster acquisition and/or denser shot sampling. This flexibility usually comes at the cost of an extra step in the processing

TOA Estimation and Data Association for Through-Wall Tracking of Moving Targets

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2010
Through-wall tracking of moving targets is of great interest for rescue, surveillance, and security operations. For its realization, the handheld ultrawideband radars with small antenna array provide a practical solution.

Data-driven 3D Deghosting Using Multisensor Marine Measurements

open access: yes, 2016
Marine seismic acquisition tows submerged streamers to record pressure waves from the subsurface. The recording, however, contains both the desired upgoing wavefield and its (immediate) reflection off the sea-surface, causing a downgoing wavefield known ...

Deghosting in passive air surveillance systems

open access: yes, 2022
S.88-91Digital Audio/Video Broadcasting (DAB/DVB-T) is already available in a large area of Europe. The advantage of using these signals for passive air surveillance is the disposability of a large range of illuminators sending an easily decodeable ...

Receiver Deghosting of High-Resolution Shallow-Tow Seismic Data

open access: yes
The increasing demand for offshore wind farms and the need for detailed sub-bottom geotechnical information has led to an increase in shallow-tow high-resolution or ultra-high-resolution seismic acquisition.

Broadband seismic over/under sources and their designature-deghosting

open access: yes, 2017
The source depth influences the frequency band of seismic data. Due to the source ghost effect, it is advantageous to deploy sources deep to enhance the low-frequency content of seismic data.

Integrated receiver deghosting and closed-loop surface-multiple elimination

open access: yes, 2017
Accurate surface-related multiple removal is an important step in conventional seismic processing, and more recently, primaries and surface multiples are separated such that each of them is available for imaging algorithms.
