Unravelling the evolution of the Frébouge polygenetic cone in Val Ferret (Mont Blanc Massif)

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
Proglacial settings in the Alps are typically polygenetic, often characterized by a complex and discontinuous interplay between glacial, fluvial and gravitational processes. These processes yield high volumes of sediments, which usually exceed their transportation capacity.

Glacial geomorphology between Lake Vänern and Lake Vättern, southern Sweden

open access: yesJournal of Maps, 2020
The glacial geomorphology between the lakes Vänern and Vättern is presented on a 1:220,000 scale, LiDAR-based map covering approximately 18,000 km2.

Stratigraphic evidence for modern‐like glacier extents in south‐central Alaska within the last glacial period (MIS 3)

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
The last (Wisconsinan) glacial period was punctuated in North America by two glacial maxima, known as the Early and Late Wisconsinan glaciations. In Alaska, these maxima and their subsequent retreats have been the object of dating efforts to reconstruct local climatic events and compare them to global trends.

Glacial geomorphology of the south Swedish uplands – focus on the spatial distribution of hummock tracts

open access: yesJournal of Maps, 2017
We present the first comprehensive glacial-landform map of the south Swedish uplands (SSU), deglaciated 15–13 ka ago, using one consistent method and dataset; a Light Detection and Ranging-derived digital elevation model.

Middle to Late Pleistocene landscape evolution and glacial dynamics in the Eastern Alps: the Gröbminger Mitterberg record, Austria

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
Glacial erosion during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) has removed much evidence of earlier glaciations and interglacials in the European Alps. At Gröbminger Mitterberg (GM), beneath a blanket of LGM till, a distinctive sediment archive preserves deposits predating the LGM.

Debris at the edge: sedimentological dynamics of Hintereisferner's evolving terminus and glacial forefield, Austrian Alps

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
The interaction between glaciers and the debris accumulating on their surfaces is critical as the Earth warms, with consequences for ice dynamics, hydrology and mass balance together with slope and sedimentary processes. Understanding this interaction is necessary since it influences ablation rates, sediment and meltwater pathways.

Ice margin oscillations during deglaciation of the northern Irish Sea Basin

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, 2018
We present a new chronology to constrain ice‐margin retreat in the northern Irish Sea Basin. Estimates on the timing of ice thinning derived from surface exposure ages for boulders from the summits of the Isle of Man and south‐west Cumbria suggest that ...

Palaeolandscape reconstruction of a shallow coastal embayment in Kattegat, Denmark—influence of sea‐level changes during the latest Pleistocene and Holocene

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
We analyse the geological processes of a coastal embayment in the Kattegat. Using high‐resolution seismic data and sediment cores, we describe a geological evolution from glacial to shallow marine stages with a variety of preserved facies from different depositional settings, including glacio‐lacustrine, telmatic, limnic and coastal environments.
