Deglutition in Myasthenia Gravis
The British Journal of Radiology, 1962As dysphagia is such a frequent symptom in myasthenia gravis and in other conditions which may simulate it, examination of the patient's deglutition is very desirable. Cinefluorography using image intensification provides the most satisfactory way of doing this and recording the abnormalities.

Journal of Dental Research, 1974Investigations were performed to assess the degree of tooth contact during deglutition. Graphic recordings of vertical jaw movement during deglutition were obtained from partially edentulous patients by means of an intraoral transmitting system. The incidence and position of tooth contact and its relationship to prosthodontics was studied.

In cases with a history of swallow syncope, an ECG should immediately be taken during ingestion of solid or liquid food in order to determine the rhythm disturbances responsible for the syncopes. Both esophageal passage and cardiac diagnosis are indicated, since, as shown in the literature, pathologic findings are not uncommon.
