Image restoration using deep learning [PDF]
We propose a new image restoration method that reduces noise and blur in degraded images. In contrast to many state of the art methods, our method does not rely on intensive iterative approaches, instead it uses a pre-trained convolutional neural ...

Firms acquire network capacity from multiple suppliers which offer different Quality of Service (QoS) levels. After acquisition, day-to-day operations such as video conferencing, voice over IP and data applications are allocated between these acquired capacities by considering QoS requirement of each operation.

A method for interference mitigation in space communications scheduling [PDF]
Increases in the number of user spacecraft and data rates supported by NASA's Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System (TDRSS) in the S and Ku bands could result in communications conflicts due to mutual interference.

Design‐for‐Benchmarking in Soft Robotics: Navigating Component‐System Dichotomy
Soft robotics faces a profound evaluation challenge: the Component‐System Dichotomy, where isolated component tests fail to predict integrated performance. This article presents a systematic survey of critical reporting gaps across actuation, sensing, and control.

We report an experimental demonstration of room‐temperature Hong–Ou–Mandel interference at a radio‐wave frequency of 120 MHz using emulated single‐photon states conditionally built from classical phase‐averaged coherent states. Our technique and results open the door to realizing quantum protocols in frequency ranges where standard quantum technologies

Recent Advances in Stimulated Brillouin Scattering in Integrated Photonics
This review systematically surveys recent advances in stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) within integrated photonics. It begins by elucidating the fundamental mechanisms of stimulated coupling between photons and acoustic phonons in nanoscale waveguides, enhanced by the photoelastic and moving boundary effects.
