Lower bounds for the degree of approximation [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1960
is the optimal degree of approximation of 2W. In this paper we shall give simple methods which permit to find the order of magnitude of Dn(W) for several important classes ?1: for some classes of analytic functions (?6); for the unit ball AP+a of the space CP+a of functions with continuous derivatives of order p, which satisfy a Lipschitz condition ...

Approximation properties of modified Stancu beta operators

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2006
In this paper we give approximation theorems for modified Stancu beta operators of differentiable functions. The Stancu beta operators were examined in [8, 1, 2, 5] and other papers.

Approximation of functions and their conjugates in Lp and uniform metric by Euler means

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2018
For 2π-periodic functions from Lp (where 1 < p < ∞) we prove an estimate of approximation by Euler means in Lp metric generalizing a result of L. Rempuska and K. Tomczak. Furthermore, we show that this estimate is sharp in a certain sense.

Approximation by Nonlinear Hermite-Fejer interpolation operators of max-product kind on Chebyshev nodes

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2010
The aim of this note is that by using the so-called max-product method, to associate to the Hermite-Fejer polynomials based on the Chebyshev knots of first kind, a new interpolation operator for which a Jackson-type approximation order in terms of ...

Approximation by bivariate Chlodowsky type Szász–Durrmeyer operators and associated GBS operators on weighted spaces

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2022
In this article, we consider a bivariate Chlodowsky type Szász–Durrmeyer operators on weighted spaces. We obtain the rate of approximation in connection with the partial and complete modulus of continuity and also for the elements of the Lipschitz type ...

Approximation of functions in the generalized Zygmund class using Hausdorff means

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2017
In this paper we investigate the degree of approximation of a function belonging to the generalized Zygmund class Z p ( ω ) $Z_{p}^{(\omega)}$ ( p ≥ 1 $p \ge1$ ) by Hausdorff means of its Fourier series.

Degree of Approximation and Green Potential

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Extension, 2009
We will relate the degree of rational approximation of a meromorphic function f to the minimum value, on the natural boundary of f, of Green potential of the weak∗ limit of the normalized pole-counting ...

The evaluation of the order of approximation of the matrix method for numerical integration of the boundary value problems for systems of linear non-homogeneous ordinary differential equations of the second order with variable coefficients. Message 2. Boundary value problems with boundary conditions of the second and third kind

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2017
We present the second message of the cycle from two articles where the rearrangement of the order of approximation of the matrix method of numerical integration depending on the degree in the Taylor’s polynomial expansion of solutions of boundary value ...
