Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Microstructure Evolution and Phase Stability of ODS Steel During Spark Plasma Sintering

open access: yesAlloys
The effect of spark plasma sintering (SPS) temperature on the structural and phase state and the physicomechanical properties of an ODS steel based on the Fe-Cr-Y2O3 system was investigated.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Compressibility characteristics and coefficient of consolidation determination for unsaturated sand treated with micro silica

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study investigated the influence of Micro-Silica (MS) on the compressibility of poorly graded sand, with the aim of determining coefficient of consolidation ( $${c}_{v}$$ ).

Identification of a Shiga toxin A‐derived peptide internalized into Gb3 receptor‐bearing cells via interaction with the Shiga toxin B subunit

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

Impact of the solid volume fraction of clay and consolidation on the erodibility of sand-mud mixtures

open access: yesInternational Journal of Sediment Research
The erodibility of sediment mixtures is a key factor in sediment dynamic processes and morphological evolution in coastal environments. However, it remains insufficiently understood.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...
