Three-parameter Lorentz-violating texture for neutrino mixing [PDF]
A three-parameter model of neutrino oscillations based on a simple Lorentz- and CPT-violating texture is presented. The model is consistent with established data and naturally generates low-energy and neutrino-antineutrino anomalies of the MiniBooNE type.

Numerical Investigation of an Active Micromixer Utilizing Alternating Rotating Obstacles for Non-Newtonian Fluids at Ultra-low Reynolds Numbers [PDF]
Achieving rapid mixing in microfluidic systems is notoriously difficult at ultra-low Reynolds numbers (Re 90% for all tested diffusivities when the angular velocity reaches 800 RPM. However, the most significant finding concerns fluid rheology: contrary

Predicting plankton net community production in the Atlantic Ocean [PDF]
We present, test and implement two contrasting models to predict euphotic zone net community production (NCP), which are based on 14C primary production (PO14CP) to NCP relationships over two latitudinal (ca.

Preferred levels for background ducking to produce esthetically pleasing audio for TV with clear speech [PDF]
In audio production, background ducking facilitates speech intelligibility while allowing the background to fulfill its purpose, e.g., to create ambience, set the mood, or convey semantic cues.

Effects of Channel Wall Twisting on the Mixing in a T-Shaped Micro-Channel
A new design scheme is proposed for twisting the walls of a microchannel, and its performance is demonstrated numerically. The numerical study was carried out for a T-shaped microchannel with twist angles in the range of 0 to 34π.

Mixing times of random walks on dynamic configuration models [PDF]
The mixing time of a random walk, with or without backtracking, on a random graph generated according to the configuration model on $n$ vertices, is known to be of order $\log n$.

Exact thresholds for Ising-Gibbs samplers on general graphs [PDF]
We establish tight results for rapid mixing of Gibbs samplers for the Ferromagnetic Ising model on general graphs. We show that if \[(d-1)\tanh\beta1$, respectively. To our knowledge our results give the first tight sufficient conditions for rapid mixing

Beyond Control-Flow: Extending Business Process Configuration to Roles and Objects [PDF]
A configurable process model is an integrated representation of multiple variants of a business process. It is designed to be individualized to meet a particular set of requirements. As such, configurable process models promote systematic reuse of proven

Ranking and clustering of nodes in networks with smart teleportation [PDF]
Random teleportation is a necessary evil for ranking and clustering directed networks based on random walks. Teleportation enables ergodic solutions, but the solutions must necessarily depend on the exact implementation and parametrization of the ...
