A scalable dual‐functional strategy yields simultaneously sulfonated and nanosized cellulose for proton exchange membranes with continuous hydrogen‐bond networks. These sustainable membranes exhibit low‐humidity proton conductivity twofold higher than Nafion 212, providing a robust solution for next‐generation fuel cells.

In this study, synthesis of sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) was performed using sulfonation method with concentrated sulfuric acid. Polymer with three degrees of sulfonation was obtained: 0.87; 0.82 and 0.74.
