On‐Surface Indigo‐Based Bimolecular Coordination Networks with Programmable Regular or Vitreous Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A previously unreported coordination motif stabilising single Fe atoms by indigo chelation and pyridyl coordination on Au(111) has been revealed. By using planar tritopic pyridyl linkers (TPyB), extended 2D porous networks of indigo3(TPyB)2Fe6 form. These networks can be crystalline or vitreous and offer an environment where individual coordination ...

Degree-penalized contact processes

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma
In this paper we study degree-penalized contact processes on Galton-Watson (GW) trees and the configuration model. The model we consider is a modification of the usual contact process on a graph.

Total vertex irregularity strength of trees with maximum degree five

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Graph Theory and Applications, 2018
In 2010, Nurdin, Baskoro, Salman and Gaos conjectured that the total vertex irregularity strength of any tree T is determined only by the number of vertices of degrees 1, 2 and 3 in T. This paper will confirm this conjecture by considering all trees with

Susceptibility of random graphs with given vertex degrees [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorics, 2010
We study the susceptibility, i.e., the mean cluster size, in random graphs with given vertex degrees. We show, under weak assumptions, that the susceptibility converges to the expected cluster size in the corresponding branching process. In the supercritical case, a corresponding result holds for the modified susceptibility ignoring the giant component

Cool Kitchen: Processing Starch and Eggshell Powder into Sustainable Coatings for Passive Daytime Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A food‐grade cooling composite made from starch and recycled eggshell powder offers a scalable, ultra‐low‐cost solution for passive daytime radiative cooling. Easily prepared using basic kitchen tools, this material empowers communities, even in areas with limited infrastructure, to stay cooler during worsening summer heat waves.

On Unigraphic Polyhedra with One Vertex of Degree $${p-2}$$

open access: yesResults in Mathematics
A sequence $σ$ of $p$ non-negative integers is unigraphic if it is the degree sequence of exactly one graph, up to isomorphism. A polyhedral graph is a $3$-connected, planar graph. We investigate which sequences are unigraphic with respect to the class of polyhedral graphs, meaning that they admit exactly one realisation as a polyhedron.

From Single Atoms to Nanoparticles: Pathways Toward Efficient and Durable Pt/TiO2 Photocatalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Platinum single atoms on TiO2 nanosheets evolve into clusters and nanoparticles under ethanol photoreforming and thermal treatments. By controlling deposition and post‐treatments, particle size and location on specific facets are modulated. The study reveals how stability pathways determine efficiency, guiding the design of more durable photocatalysts.

Functions on adjacent vertex degrees of trees with given degree sequence

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2014
Abstract In this note we consider a discrete symmetric function f(x, y) where $$f(x,a) + f(y,b) \geqslant f(y,a) + f(x,b) for any x \geqslant y and a \geqslant b,$$ associated with the degrees of adjacent vertices in a tree. The extremal trees with respect to the corresponding graph invariant, defined as $$\sum\limits_{uv \in E(T)} {f(
