Degree Theory for Second Order Nonlinear Elliptic Operators and its Applications [PDF]
We introduce, along the lines of [4], an integer valued degree for second order fully nonlinear elliptic operators which is invariant under homotopy within elliptic operators. We also give some applications to the bifurcation problem for nonlinear elliptic equations.

Network Synthesis of Linear Dynamical Quantum Stochastic Systems [PDF]
The purpose of this paper is to develop a synthesis theory for linear dynamical quantum stochastic systems that are encountered in linear quantum optics and in phenomenological models of linear quantum circuits.

Positive Solutions for Systems of Quasilinear Equations with Non-homogeneous Operators and Weights
In this paper we deal with positive radially symmetric solutions for a boundary value problem containing a strongly nonlinear operator. The proof of existence of positive solutions that we give uses the blow-up method as a main ingredient for the search ...

Partial differential systems with nonlocal nonlinearities: Generation and solutions [PDF]
We develop a method for generating solutions to large classes of evolutionary partial differential systems with nonlocal nonlinearities. For arbitrary initial data, the solutions are generated from the corresponding linearized equations.

A Problem Concerning Yamabe-Type Operators of Negative Admissible Metrics
This paper is about a problem concerning nonlinear Yamabe-type operators of negative admissible metrics. We first give a result on σk Yamabe problem of negative admissible metrics by virtue of the degree theory in nonlinear functional analysis and the ...

Solvability of resonance problems for nonlinear q-difference equations on infinite intervals [PDF]
In order to develop the basic theory of resonance boundary value problems for nonlinear quantum difference equations, a class of nonlinear quantum difference equation boundary value problems at resonance on infinite intervals was studied.

Microformal geometry and homotopy algebras [PDF]
We extend the category of (super)manifolds and their smooth mappings by introducing a notion of microformal or "thick" morphisms. They are formal canonical relations of a special form, constructed with the help of formal power expansions in cotangent ...

The Cauchy problem for a tenth-order thin film equation II. Oscillatory source-type and fundamental similarity solutions [PDF]
Fundamental global similarity solutions of the standard form u_\g(x,t)=t^{-\a_\g} f_\g(y), with the rescaled variable y= x/{t^{\b_\g}}, \b_\g= \frac {1-n \a_\g}{10}, where \a_\g>0 are real nonlinear eigenvalues (\g is a multiindex in R^N) of the tenth ...

Feedback control of quantum state reduction [PDF]
Feedback control of quantum mechanical systems must take into account the probabilistic nature of quantum measurement. We formulate quantum feedback control as a problem of stochastic nonlinear control by considering separately a quantum filtering ...
