A novel “Turn-on” fluorescent probe, which displayed prominent sensitivity and selectivity for the detection of HSO3−, was synthesized from dehydroabietic acid. The probe also showed high lysosome-targeting properties when sensing HSO3− in MCF-7 cells.

Occurrence of the toxin dehydroabietic acid in Salmonella typhimurium
Toxicon, 2000Many strains of Salmonella typhimurium studied in our lab demonstrated marked differences in the pathogenicity for guinea pig, chicken and Hela cells. As a result, a pathogenic strain of S. typhimurium, strain 9SR2, was evaluated for lipophilic components that may be associated with virulence using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. The hydroxylated

DERIVATIVES OF DEHYDROABIETIC AND PODOCARPIC ACIDS
Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1963The lithium aluminum hydride reduction of nitriles in the aromatic resin acid series to aldimines and the conversion of the products to other derivatives are described. The effect of the stereochemistry of the nitriles on the rate of reduction is noted. The transformation of dehydroabietane into a dehydro product is indicated.

Photolysis of the Resin Acid Dehydroabietic Acid in Water
Environmental Science & Technology, 2000The effects of UV254-radiation and artificial solar radiation on the degradation of dehydroabietic acid (DHAA) in humic water and in humus-free control water were examined. The reaction rates were determined, the degradation products were tentatively identified, and the toxicity changes of the solutions were monitored.

An asymmetric synthesis of (+)-Scrodentoid A from dehydroabietic acid
, 2021An efficient synthesis of (+)-scrodentoid A was accomplished starting from commercially available dehydroabietic acid. Key reactions in the synthesis include oxidative decarboxylation of dehydroabietic acid and C–H bond oxidation on arene.
