Multi‐Scale Interface Engineering of MXenes for Multifunctional Sensory Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXenes, as two‐dimensional transition metal carbides and nitrides, demonstrate remarkable capabilities for multifunctional sensing applications. This review systematically examines multi‐scale interface engineering approaches that enhance sensing performance, enable diverse detection functionalities, and improve system‐level compatibility in MXene ...

Tension fatigue of glass/epoxy and graphite/epoxy tapered laminates [PDF]

open access: yes
Symmetric tapered laminates with internally dropped plies were tested with two different layups and two materials, S2/SP250 glass/epoxy and IM6/1827I graphite/epoxy. The specimens were loaded in cyclic tension until they delaminated unstably.

Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

Regionally Localized Electrolyte Engineering via UV Crosslinking for Stable Ether–Carbonate Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a regionally localized electrolyte (RLE) that spatially separates ether‐ and carbonate‐based functions to stabilize both Li metal and high‐voltage cathodes. An immobilized ether‐rich layer directs Li+ transport, activates LiNO3 locally, and forms a uniform LiF‐rich SEI, enabling lower overpotential, uniform deposition, and long ...

Built‐In Interfacial Electric Field in Hydroxyl‐Terminated MXene/COF Heterostructures for Enhanced Solid‐State Supercapacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hydroxyl‐terminated MXene is integrated with a redox‐active covalent organic framework through electrostatic self‐assembly followed by hydrothermal treatment to construct MXene/COF heterostructures with a built‐in interfacial electric field. Termination‐controlled interfacial electronic modulation induces charge redistribution and favorable band ...

Comprehensive optimization of process parameters in rotary ultrasonic drilling of CFRP aimed at minimizing delamination

open access: yesInternational Journal of Lightweight Materials and Manufacture, 2019
Delamination damage is one of the main problems in drilling of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) laminates. In recent years, rotary ultrasonic drilling, a brand new machining process that results in better machining quality, has been attracting ...
