Membrane Delaminating Wedge

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1995
Iatrogenic retinal tears may complicate procedures to treat proliferative vitreoretinal diseases. To decrease the risk of this complication, we developed a new instrument, the membrane delamination wedge, that allows the surgeon to separate the proliferative membranes from the retina effectively and safely.

The Contact Problem at Delamination

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1995
The important phenomenon of delamination buckling is examined subjected to the condition of frictionless contact. Buckled delamination is examined in particular, because in-plane compressive loading is typical and detrimental. Two types of contact can be distinguished, local and global.

Development of the delamination evaluation parameters (I) — the delamination aspect ratio and the delamination shape factors —

KSME International Journal, 2004
Although the previous researches evaluated the fatigue behavior of Al/GFRP laminates using the traditional fracture mechanism, their researches were not sufficient to do it : the damage zone of Al/GFRP laminates was occurred at the delamination zone instead of the crack-metallic damages.

Clay Delamination in Hydrocarbon Rubbers

Chemistry of Materials, 2007
Apolar-rubber/clay composites obtained by rubber compounding with pristine and organo-modified montmorillonite (MMT) have been characterized by X-ray diffraction measurements. By reducing the clay content in the rubber, the (00l) reflections progressively reduce their intensity, with respect to (hk0) reflections, while their spacing remains unaltered ...

Advances in Delamination Modeling

2008
Today’s microelectronic packages are typically composed of various materials, like silicon, metals, oxides, glues, and compounds (polymers). In Fig. 4.1, cross sections of a leadframe- and substrate-based package are depicted. Due to the dissimilar nature of these materials and the inherent presence of a large number of interfaces in each component ...

Separation of delamination modes in composite beams with symmetric delaminations

Materials & Design, 2006
Delaminated composite beam under general edge loading conditions is studied. Based on a technical engineering theory an analytical procedure for calculation of strain energy release rate and its separation into modes I and II of delamination is presented. By choosing a suitable displacement field based on second-order shear-thickness deformation theory

A Delamination Model

2004
A delamination model for laminated composites is proposed. A damage variable takes into account the degradation of the adhesive properties of the interfaces. It is described by a nonsmooth, nonconvex functional [1].

Effect of delamination angle on delamination energy

2000
Different tests have been traditionally used to evaluate the delamination energy of paper and board. The values of delamination energy differ quite a bit. We propose that this is related to differences in the angle that opens between the delaminated faces of the specimen.

Specified Delamination

SSPC 2000, 2000
Abstract Experience shows that the same types of delamination failures occur repeatedly, often when new coating systems are applied over old ones. The failures arise due to faulty specifications that fail to take into account the physics, chemistry and mechanical properties that govern coating behavior. Examples of this are given and the
