Curved optimal delaunay triangulation [PDF]
Meshes with curvilinear elements hold the appealing promise of enhanced geometric flexibility and higher-order numerical accuracy compared to their commonly-used straight-edge counterparts. However, the generation of curved meshes remains a computationally expensive endeavor with current meshing approaches: high-order parametric elements are ...

Fingerprint verification using computational geometry
This paper presents a robust minutiae based method for fingerprint verification. The proposed method uses Delaunay Triangulation to represent minutiae as nodes of a connected graph composed of triangles.

Strong force chains form when any granular material is subjected to load. A prior study used Delaunay triangulations to investigate the role of interparticle friction coefficient, μ, in stabilising the strong force chains [1].

Delaunay Triangulations in the Hilbert Metric
The Hilbert metric is a distance function defined for points lying within the interior of a convex body. It arises in the analysis and processing of convex bodies, machine learning, and quantum information theory. In this paper, we show how to adapt the Euclidean Delaunay triangulation to the Hilbert geometry defined by a convex polygon in the plane ...

Outerplanar Graphs and Delaunay Triangulations [PDF]
Dillencourt [1] showed that all maximal outerplanar graphs can be realized as Delaunay triangulations of points in convex position. In this note, we give two new, alternate proofs.

Characterisation and improvement of the quality of mixing of recycled thermoplastic composites
A low-shear mixer was used to blend thermoplastic composite scrap material into a molten mixed dough, which was then compression moulded. This process is a key step in a novel recycling solution for thermoplastic composites.

Properties of the Delaunay triangulation
We defined several functionals on the set of all triangulations of the finite system of points in d-space achieving global minimum on the Delaunay triangulation (DT). We consider a so called "parabolic" functional and prove it attains its minimum on DT in all dimensions.

Flipping geometric triangulations on hyperbolic surfaces
We consider geometric triangulations of surfaces, i.e., triangulations whose edges can be realized by disjoint geodesic segments. We prove that the flip graph of geometric triangulations with fixed vertices of a flat torus or a closed hyperbolic surface

Complexity L0-Penalized M-Estimation: Consistency in More Dimensions
We study the asymptotics in L2 for complexity penalized least squares regression for the discrete approximation of finite-dimensional signals on continuous domains—e.g., images—by piecewise smooth functions.
