Realistic Channel and Delay Coefficient Generation for Dual Mobile Space-Ground Links: A Tutorial
Channel and delay coefficient are two essential parameters for the characterization of a multipath propagation environment. It is crucial to generate realistic channel and delay coefficient in order to study the channel characteristics that involves ...

Modelling railway delay propagation as diffusion-like spreading
AbstractRailway systems form an important means of transport across the world. However, congestions or disruptions may significantly decrease these systems’ efficiencies, making predicting and understanding the resulting train delays a priority for railway organisations.

When Queueing Meets Coding: Optimal-Latency Data Retrieving Scheme in Storage Clouds [PDF]
In this paper, we study the problem of reducing the delay of downloading data from cloud storage systems by leveraging multiple parallel threads, assuming that the data has been encoded and stored in the clouds using fixed rate forward error correction ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Delay spread statistics in simulcast transmission system
The statistics of the RMS delay spread in a simulcast mobile radio system are investigated. A simple model is assumed for a simulcast radio system that consists of two base stations with overlapped coverage. A mobile roaming in the overlap area receives two signals via two independent paths where each path is subjected to Rayleigh fading.

Tracking Message Spread in Mobile Delay Tolerant Networks [PDF]
We consider a Delay Tolerant Network under two message forwarding schemes – a non-replicative direct deliveryscheme and a replicative epidemic routing scheme. Our objective is to track the degree of spread of a message in the network.Such estimation can be used for on-line control of message dissemination.
