Measuring Spatiotemporal Concentration and Temperature Profiles in a Tubular Fixed‐Bed Reactor for CO2 Methanation

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 1, 15 January 2026.
The dynamic operation of heterogeneously catalyzed CO2${\rm CO}_2$ methanation poses distinct challenges. A tubular profiling reactor was employed under transient conditions to obtain spatiotemporally resolved profiles of temperature and concentration.

Interplay of Vanadia Surface Density and Support Nature in CO2‐Assisted Propane Dehydrogenation Over V2O5‐Catalysts

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
The influence of vanadium surface density and support nature (MoO3, Nb2O5, and SiO2) on VOx catalysts in CO2‐assisted oxidative dehydrogenation of propane (CO2‐ODHP) is unveiled. Isolated/oligomeric VO4 species together with strong VOx‐support interaction suppress coke formation, and enhance propylene production, with MoO3 providing a synergistic role ...

Spectra and Light Curves of Failed Supernovae

open access: yes, 2009
Astronomers have proposed a number of mechanisms to produce supernova explosions. Although many of these mechanisms are now not considered primary engines behind supernovae, they do produce transients that will be observed by upcoming ground-based ...

Decreased recall of primacy words predicts cognitive decline. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
One of the cognitive changes associated with Alzheimer's disease is a diminution of the primacy effect, i.e., the tendency toward better recall of items studied early on a list compared with the rest.

Review of Flash Joule Heating for the Synthesis of Graphene and Other Functional Carbon Materials

open access: yesCarbon Energy, Volume 8, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Flash Joule heating (FJH), as a high‐efficiency and low‐energy consumption technology for advanced materials synthesis, has shown significant potential in the synthesis of graphene and other functional carbon materials. Based on the Joule effect, the solid carbon sources can be rapidly heated to ultra‐high temperatures (> 3000 K) through ...

Intervención internacional a través de los medios de comunicación en sociedades posguerra: Perspectivas a partir de las epistemologías del sur [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Over the past two decades, international intervention in post-war settings has strictly followed liberal assumptions and practices. Efforts to build and shape the media in the aftermath of armed conflict are no exception.

Determining the Effect of Grain Size on the Microstructure and Oxidation of Nuclear Graphite

open access: yesCarbon Energy, Volume 8, Issue 1, January 2026.
Superfine‐grained graphite is developed, showing oxidation resistance comparable to that of medium‐grained graphite. The study reveals that two intrinsic parameters govern its performance: reactive site concentration dictates chemical kinetics, whereas pore tortuosity controls oxidant diffusion.
