What is the significance of delayed cord clamping?

This article uses the Gibb's reflective cycle (1988) to explore the consequences of the timing of the clamping of the umbilical cord. Recent evidence is critiqued to conclude that the immediate clamping of the cord in an actively managed first stage is not evidence-based.
