Non-linear Osmotic Brush Regime: Simulations and mean-field theory [PDF]

open access: yesEur. Phys. J. E 12, 223 (2003), 2005
We investigate polyelectrolyte brushes in the osmotic regime using both theoretical analysis and molecular dynamics simulation techniques. In the simulations at moderate Bjerrum length, we observe that the brush height varies weakly with grafting density, in contrast to the accepted scaling law, which predicts a brush thickness independent of the ...

Biofilm Control by Active Topography with Mucin Coating

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports a new antifouling strategy based on a bioinspired design. Mucin coating enhances biofilm control by active topography with beating micron‐sized pillars. Besides the mechanical force of beating pillars, the antibiofilm activities also involve biological factors since mucin coating inhibits swarming motility and c‐di‐GMP synthesis in ...

Delayed graft function on kidney transplant recipients

open access: yesRevista de Nefrología, Diálisis y Trasplante, 2017
Introduction: Delayed graft function (DGF) is a common complication in renal transplant and has implications for its development. Objectives: To know its incidence in a single transplant center, to describe the risk factors in donor and recipient, the ...

Brushes of flexible, semiflexible and rodlike diblock polyampholytes: Molecular dynamics simulation and scaling analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Planar brushes of flexible, semiflexible and rodlike diblock polyampholytes are studied using molecular dynamics simulations and scaling analysis in a wide range of the grafting density. Simulations show linear dependence of the average thickness on the grafting density for all the brushes regardless of their different equilibrium conformations and ...

Intraoral Drug Delivery: Bridging the Gap Between Academic Research and Industrial Innovations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intraoral drug delivery offers a promising route for systemic and localized therapies, yet challenges such as enzymatic degradation, limited permeability, and microbial interactions hinder efficacy. This figure highlights innovative strategies—mucoadhesive materials, enzyme inhibitors, and permeation enhancers—to overcome these barriers.

Jacob's ladders and grafting of the complete hybrid formulas into $ζ$-synergetic meta-functional equation for Riemann's zeta-function [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
In this paper we prove that there is a grafting of complete hybrid formula on meta-functional equation. This synergetic formula gives the result of a $\zeta$-chemical reaction between different sets of values of Riemann's zeta-function on the critical strip.

Extracellular Matrix‐Mediated Crosslinking of Adhesive Hyaluronic Acid Patch for Treating Volumetric Muscle Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports a novel strategy for preparing a biocompatible adhesive hydrogel crosslinked with a muscle tissue‐derived extracellular matrix (MEM) for in situ muscle regeneration. As a natural crosslinker, MEM not only mediates combinatorial polymer networks but also stimulates satellite cells to induce a cell‐free therapeutic solution.

Jacob's ladders and the set of elementary meta-functional equations giving new kind of interactions of $ζ(s)$ with itself [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
In this paper we obtain the set of grafts from some set of 12 elementary functions on 12 critical strips. We make use this directly for grafting of elements of the corresponding set of $\zeta$-factorization formulas. This procedure gives the set of elementary meta-functional equations that represents the set of elementary interactions of the Riemann's ...

Universal Hydrogel Carrier Enhances Bone Graft Success: Preclinical and Clinical Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
TX hydrogel improves the delivery of different types of particulate bone grafts, maintaining them at the implantation sites, and resulting in favorable bone regenerative outcomes. Abstract Orthopedic, maxillofacial, and complex dentoalveolar bone grafting procedures that require donor‐site bone harvesting can be associated with post‐surgical ...

Prediction of delayed graft function after renal transplantation

open access: yesCanadian Urological Association Journal, 2013
Introduction: Delayed graft function (DGF), defined as the needfor dialysis during the first week after renal transplantation, is animportant adverse clinical outcome. A previous model relied on16 variables to quantify the risk of DGF, thereby undermining itsclinical usefulness.
