Delayed Symbolic Matching to Sample in the Pigeon
The Psychological Record, 1978Trials for food-deprived pigeons began with the illumination of the grain feeder lamp. On a random one-half of the trials, the feeder tray was raised so that the bird could eat. After a delay, which varied between 0 and 25 sec., two response keys were illuminated, one with red and one with green light.

Comparison of delayed matching-to-sample performance in monkeys and children
Behavioural Processes, 2014Although research has consistently demonstrated that accuracy on a variety of memory tasks decreases as delay increases, relatively little research has been conducted to quantify this relationship across development in humans or directly compare rates of forgetting between humans and monkeys. This study utilized a delayed matching-to-sample (DMTS) task

Role of naming in delayed matching-to-sample.
American journal of mental deficiency, 1975A delayed matching-to-sample task, with pictures as sample and comparison stimuli, was given to four severely retarded youths. Although they matched accurately when the sample picture was available for comparison, they performed poorly on the delayed-matching in which the sample was removed a few seconds before the comparison stimuli appeared.

Developmental aspects of delayed matching-to-sample task performance in children
Neurotoxicology and Teratology, 2000The influence of age, sex, and intelligence (IQ) on performance of a delayed matching-to-sample (DMTS) task, commonly used with animals and adult human subjects to study aspects of short-term memory, was examined for 674 children, 5 to 13 years old.

Alcohol effects on delayed matching to sample performance by rhesus monkey
Physiology & Behavior, 1971Abstract Recent clinical evidence suggests that alcohol may impair short term memory in alcoholics. This study examines the effects of alcohol (1–3.5 g/kg) on performance of a titrated delayed matching to sample task by rhesus monkey. After monkeys reached 90 per cent correct on four pairs of achromatic stimuli, generalization to color, size and ...
