Delayed DNA break repair for genome stability
Nature Cell Biology, 2021The collapse of DNA replication forks leads to the formation of single-ended DNA double-strand breaks. One would have assumed that these breaks would be repaired as soon as possible. However, a recent study suggests that a delay in DNA polymerase θ-mediated end joining until mitosis, orchestrated by BRCA2 and RAD52, favors genomic stability.

Delayed repair of the ulnar nerve
The Journal of Hand Surgery: British & European Volume, 1985The case of a fifteen-year-old child where the delay between division and successful repair of the ulnar nerve was nine years is presented. This case and a review of the literature emphasise the importance of repairing nerves in children irrespective of the time interval between division and repair.

Delayed Venous Repair for Distal Phalanx Replantation
Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery, 2012Vein anastomosis is the most important factor determining the success in the replantation of distal phalanx amputations. It is very difficult to find the collapsed veins and to perform vein anastomosis immediately after arterial repair. We have chosen to delay the vein repair between 30 minutes and 1 hour to give time to the veins to expand to a more ...

Laparoscopic repair of delayed-onset ureter injury
Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, 2007Ureter injury is typically a rare complication, albeit with serious sequelae, of a hysterectomy procedure, especially after laparoscopic hysterectomy. Herein we report on a successful laparoscopic reanastomosis of the ureter conducted at the ureterovesical junction.

Delayed open conversion after endovascular aortic repair
Asian Cardiovascular and Thoracic Annals, 2018Aim We present the clinical outcomes of patients who underwent delayed (>30 days) open surgical repair after endovascular aortic aneurysm repair. Methods All patients receiving delayed open repair of infrarenal and juxtarenal aortic aneurysms after endovascular repair from July 2001 to December 2017 were retrospectively reviewed.

Delayed Repair of Open Depressed Skull Fracture
Pediatric Neurosurgery, 1999Introduction: Elevation and repair of an open depressed skull fracture is often thought of as an emergency procedure. Common indications for emergent elevation of a depressed skull fracture have been dural tear, seizure, gross contamination or mass effect from bone or a sizable underlying intracerebral hematoma.

Mitotic delay and repair in human lymphocytes
Mutation Research Letters, 1983It is widely known that ceils irradiated with X-rays undergo a slowing of the cell cycle. This occurs at any stage of the irradiated cell cycle, and, in addition to the irradiated stage, always involves the G2 phase. The mitotic delay observed when G2 cells are irradiated has been studied extensively and it has been observed that there is a point in G2

Exchangeable Items in Repair Systems: Delay Times
Operations Research, 1988We compute the delay time distribution for a customer who delivers a failed item to a repair system, when the items are exchangeable and the customer accepts any repaired item that is offered when he is at the head of the customer queue.

On Standby Redundancy with Delayed Repair
IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1975This paper derives a) the Laplace-Stieltjes transform of the time-to-system-failure distribution, and b) the mean time-to-system-failure. The system consists of several elements with one repair facility which remains idle until a queue of failed units is built up.

Repairable failure‐delay systems with elementary structure
Applied Stochastic Models and Data Analysis, 1992AbstractThis paper defines repairable failure‐delay systems, and gives explicit formulae for their availability. It presents models for single‐component, series and parallel systems with delay at system level, and a ‘rare event’ approximation for availability and reliability of series systems with delay at component level.
