Clinical effect of endoscopic submucosal dissection in the treatment of Siewert type Ⅱ early adenocarcinoma and precancerous lesions of esophagogastric junction

open access: yesZhongguo linchuang yanjiu
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) in the treatment of Siewert type Ⅱ early adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction (AEG) and esophagogastric junction (EGJ) precancerous lesions.

Imaging of Abdominal Complications in Children With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia

open access: yesJournal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) is the most common paediatric malignancy and remains one of the most common causes of cancer‐related death in children and adolescents. Five‐year overall survival rates now exceed 90% with current multidrug chemotherapeutic regimens. This improvement, coupled with the toxicity of chemotherapy, has led to the

Poster 327: Postoperative Physical Activity in the Setting of Delayed ACL Reconstruction is Associated with Increased Local and Systemic Immune Responses in Mice

open access: yesOrthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine
Objectives: The local and systemic immune responses to anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and ACL reconstruction likely have substantial effects on graft-to-bone healing and patient recovery; however, the immune cell profile following ACL injury and

Spontaneous Splenic Rupture following Colorectal Surgery and Hemodialysis

open access: yes, 2019
Atraumatic splenic rupture is rarely encountered in clinical practice compared to traumatic rupture. General risk factors include hematological, infectious, or malignant splenic diseases, uremic coagulopathy, use of heparin, hypertension, and immune ...

Evidence That the Protein Phosphatase Activity of PTEN Contributes to Embryonic Development and Tumor Suppression

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Mice expressing only mutant PTEN Y138L, a protein which shows normal suppression of cellular AKT yet lacks protein phosphatase activity, die in utero, and heterozygous mice display a range of tumors. This indicates both the lipid and protein phosphatase activities of PTEN work together for normal tumor suppression and embryonic development.

Chd4 and ThPOK cooperate to preserve structural and electrophysiological integrity of the adult heart through Sprr1a repression

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Chd4/NuRD and ThPOK cooperate to maintain transcriptional repression and nuclear organization in adult cardiomyocytes. Chd4 loss reduces miR‐150‐5p, relieving repression of Sprr1a, while ThPOK loss further enhances Sprr1a activation, possibly through altered chromatin–lamina interactions.

Acute freshwater CO2 exposure does not impair seawater transfer in three different sizes of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) subjected to different photoperiod manipulations

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract There is a growing interest in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) aquaculture to extend the time fish are reared in freshwater (FW) recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), producing larger FW salmon that can then be induced to undergo smoltification before transfer into marine net pens for grow‐out and harvest.

Periodontal Medicine Rewired: Mechanisms Linking Periodontitis to Systemic Diseases

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
This review reorganizes decades of research in periodontal medicine into a multi‐dimensional framework, illustrating how periodontitis influences systemic health through at least seven interconnected mechanisms. ABSTRACT Periodontitis is now recognized not merely as a localized oral condition but as a systemic disease linked to over 70 communicable and
