Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

Nanomedicine applications in lymphoma: Advancing precision diagnostics, targeted therapeutics, and prospective developments

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Lymphoma is a group of blood cancers that can appear in lymph nodes, blood, bone marrow, spleen, liver, or the central nervous system, which makes drug delivery and disease monitoring difficult. Expanding the Limits of Robotic Thyroidectomy: Management of a Rare Presentation of Thyroid Carcinoma With Supraglottic Extension

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Thyroid carcinoma ranks as the seventh most common malignancy globally by incidence, though its mortality remains relatively low. We present a rare case of papillary thyroid carcinoma in a 32‐year‐old male, with supraglottic extension of the right thyroid lobe, managed successfully using a robotic‐assisted bilateral axillo‐breast approach ...

Application of electrostatic and multi‐layer embedding in Hirshfeld atom refinements: a cost‐effective approach for approximating bulk effects in crystalline environments

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, EarlyView.
A new efficient embedding mechanism for molecule‐in‐a‐crystal electron‐density calculations during Hirshfeld atom refinement is made available in NoSpherA2 and benchmarked. One of the main advantages of Hirshfeld atom refinement (HAR), besides improved refinement statistics and reduced uncertainties of all derived parameters, is the possibility of ...

Sri Lankan chronicles, Chinese pilgrims and the nineteenth‐century hierarchy of texts in the construction of early Buddhist geography*

open access: yesJournal of Religious History, EarlyView.
This article examines how nineteenth‐century scholars reconstructed the geography of early Buddhism through a historically contingent hierarchy of texts that privileged Chinese monastic travelogues over Sri Lankan Buddhist chronicles. Focusing on the relationship between the Pāli vaṃsa literature—especially the Dīpavaṃsa and Mahāvaṃsa—and Chinese ...
