A Comparative Study of Cerebral Oxygenation During Exercise in Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment and exercise intolerance are common in dialysis patients. Cerebral perfusion and oxygenation play a major role in both cognitive function and exercise execution; HD session per se aggravates cerebral ischemia in this population. This study aimed to compare cerebral oxygenation and perfusion at rest and in mild

A Case Study on the Recovery Criteria of Reliance Damage in Marine Transport Contract and Charterparty

open access: yesAsian Journal of Shipping and Logistics, 2017
Contracts bind the parties of a contract to the terms of the agreement. When one party breaches the contract, the other party can suffer losses and claim damages, to be recovered from the breaching person.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Contestability of Container Liner Shipping Market in Alliance Era

open access: yesAsian Journal of Shipping and Logistics, 2017
A cross section panel model is applied to estimate the effect that the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI) has on container freight rates for a sample of six major container liner shipping routes during 2009 to 2011.

Good for Good. Designing Packaging in the Era of Deliveries

open access: yesDiid
Packaging is one of the classical field for the design activities where both functional, technological and communication features are faced. Design has considered packaging as a field where mainly experiment and develop the consumption engagement and attraction.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Inventories, lumpy trade, and large devaluations [PDF]

open access: yes
Fixed transaction costs and delivery lags are important costs of international trade. These costs lead firms to import infrequently and hold substantially larger inventories of imported goods than domestic goods.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative
