Seasonal and Vertical Distributions of Planthoppers (Homoptera: Fulgoroidea) Within a Black Walnut Plantation [PDF]
Information on the seasonal and vertical distributions of 34 species (eight families) of planthoppers was obtained from window trap collections in a North Carolina black walnut plantation in 15 and 1978.

Using fecal DNA metabarcoding to investigate the animal diet of black rails, yellow rails, and soras
We used fecal DNA metabarcoding to investigate the diet of yellow rails, Eastern black rails, and sora during the non‐breeding season. Arthropods, particularly ants, were prevalent in their diets, suggesting possible interactions with invasive red imported fire ants.

Delphacidae of Alaska (Homoptera: Fulgoroidea)
Fifteen species, in 10 genera, of Delphacidae are recorded from Alaska. One, Kusnezoviella macleani , is described as new to science. Acanthodelphax analis (Crawford), Javesella arcanastyla (Beamer), and J. atrata (Osborn) are new combinations. Delphacodes saileri Beamer is a synonym of Javesella simillima (Linnavuori).

The Complete Mitochondrial Genome of Ugyops sp. (Hemiptera: Delphacidae) [PDF]
The complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Ugyops sp. (Hemiptera: Delphacidae) was sequenced, making it the first determined mitogenome from the subfamily Asiracinae, the basal clade of the family Delphacidae. The mitogenome was 15,259 bp in length with A + T content of 77.65% and contained 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes ...

From micropterism to hyperpterism: recognition strategy and standardized homology-driven terminology of the forewing venation patterns in planthoppers (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha) [PDF]
Following recent advances in the morphological interpretations of the tegmen basal cell margins in the Paraneoptera, a standardized and homology-driven groundplan terminology for tegmina types, structures and vein patterns in Hemiptera Fulgoromorpha ...

Resistance of Dalbulus maidis to bifenthrin was autosomal, incompletely dominant, and polygenic. Additionally, this resistance was unstable in the absence of selection pressure. Abstract BACKGROUND Pyrethroid insecticides have been a primary strategy for managing Dalbulus maidis (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae) in Brazil. Howeve, failures in the control of D.

By quantifying the diet composition of GAPs over crop stages, farm types and years, this study reveals that generalist predators have potential to produce a stable, predictable top‐down effect on pests in rice agro‐ecosystems. Therefore, promoting the field densities of ubiquitous generalist predators will likely enhance pest management and support ...

Diverse crops in conservation agriculture systems can support a variety of arthropods, while sampling methods affected arthropod diversity outcomes. Canola‐Medics‐Wheat‐Medics rotation had a varied effect on arthropod diversity. We suggest that multiple taxa are necessary to compare diversification practices.
