Seasonal variation in wild pig (Sus scrofa) diet revealed by DNA metabarcoding

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin, Volume 50, Issue 1, March 2026.
Using DNA metabarcoding of fecal samples, we investigated the diet of wild pigs at an extensive bottomland hardwood forest ecosystem within Felsenthal National Wildlife Refuge in Southern Arkansas. We found that wild pig diet was highly diverse and included at least 74 plant families and 106 genera and 23 species of vertebrates.

Diterpenoid Alkaloids from Delphinium albiflorum

open access: yesJournal of Natural Products, 1995
Investigation of the aerial parts of Delphinium aibiflorum resulted in the isolation and identification of deacetylheterophylloidine [1] along with hetidine [2] and lycoctonine [3]. Structure 1 for this previously unreported naturally occurring alkaloid was established on the basis of detailed nmr spectral studies and chemical correlation with ...

Patterns of co-occurrence of rare and threatened species in winter arable plant communities of Italy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Detecting patterns of species co-occurrence is among the main tasks of plant community ecology. Arable plant communities are important elements of agroecosystems, because they support plant and animal biodiversity and provide ecosystem services.

Plant functional diversity does not dilute virus infection, but community virus prevalence positively correlates with net C3 grass production

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study examines if plant functional diversity dilutes plant virus prevalence in grass hosts and evaluates how virus prevalence influences net community and host production. Functional diversity did not mitigate or amplify virus prevalence. While we found that species relationships between virus prevalence and production varied, overall, virus ...
