High‐Throughput Screening of REBCO Superconducting Thin Films Fabricated Via Combinatorial Inkjet Printing and TLAG Process

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A methodological framework is presented for combinatorial REBCO thin films fabricated by drop‐on‐demand inkjet printing with controlled Rare Earth composition gradients. Automated, synchrotron‐based, and local characterization techniques produce comprehensive property maps that correlate composition and TLAG process parameters with superconducting ...

Asymmetry in Skipping Enhances Viability Against Control Input Noise

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Quadruped animals use asymmetric galloping gaits at high speeds, yet the functional role of this asymmetry remains unclear. This study shows that left–right asymmetry in touchdown angles enhances robustness to control noise. Using a simple two‐legged locomotion model and viability theory, it demonstrates that asymmetric skipping substantially enlarges ...

Sleep Alters the Velocity of Physiological Brain Pulsations in Humans

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sleep alters I/CSF oscillatory flow, driven by increased respiratory (29%) and vasomotor pulsation (21%) velocities, while cardiovascular pulsations decreased by (22%). Velocity is quantified using optical flow analysis of MREG data. Spectral power increases alongside these pulsations (spatial correlation, r = 0.35 and r = 0.39, respectively ...

Genetic Diagnosis and Discovery Enabled by Large Language Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that large language models (LLMs) can facilitate genetic diagnosis and discovery. LLMs were used to solve four types of genetic problems of sequentially increased complexity. An LLM‐based pipeline could analyze genetic variants in the genomic sequences of human hearing loss or rare genetic disease patients and assist in identifying ...

Notch and Delta are required for survival of the germline stem cell lineage in testes of Drosophila melanogaster.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
In all metazoan species, sperm is produced from germline stem cells. These self-renew and produce daughter cells that amplify and differentiate dependent on interactions with somatic support cells.

Root Canal Morphology of Mandibular First Premolars of Bangladeshi Population

open access: yesUpdate Dental College Journal, 2013
Background: The presence of a single root canal in mandibular first premolar cannot be assumed always. The variability in canal morpholohy of root canal includes the number & shape of the canal as well as pathways of the canals. Methods: In this study,

Lactose-Induced Chronic Diarrhea Results From Abnormal Luminal Microbial Fermentation and Disorder of Ion Transport in the Colon

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2020
Diarrhea is one of the major abdominal symptoms in lactose-intolerant subjects. The changes in the large intestinal luminal environment and disorder of the epithelial ion transport in lactose-induced diarrhea remain unclear.

Cortical Somatostatin Neurons Regulate Seizure Susceptibility via MINAR1/Gαs–cAMP Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study identifies MINAR1 as a novel regulator of cortical interneuron excitability and seizure susceptibility. MINAR1 is preferentially expressed in SST+ interneurons. Genetic ablation of MINAR1 leads to seizure hypersensitivity, reduced SST+ neuron excitability, and impaired Gαs–cAMP signaling, disrupting the E/I balance.

Deformation Driven Suction Cups: A Mechanics‐Based Approach to Wearable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Deformation‐driven suction cups enable robust, reversible adhesion of wearable electronics to human skin spanning wide mechanical compliance, without adhesives or tight straps. By integrating mechanics modeling, experiments, and contact mechanics theory, this work reveals how cup geometry, substrate compliance, and interfacial adhesion govern suction ...

Prevalence and morphometric analysis of three-rooted mandibular first molars in a Brazilian subpopulation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Oral Science
The knowledge of the internal anatomy of three-rooted mandibular molars may help clinicians to diagnose and plan the root canal treatment in order to provide adequate therapy when this variation is present.
