APP‐mediated intracellular signaling rescues sleep impairment and blood–brain barrier leakage in Alzheimer's disease mouse model

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Amyloid beta peptide (Aβ) accumulation in the brain is an Alzheimer´s disease (AD) hallmark. Sleep disturbances hamper Aβ production and clearance, thereby exacerbating the Aβ burden. The mechanisms involved remain unclear. We reported that amyloid precursor protein (APP), the Aβ source, possesses intracellular signaling that ...

Age‐Related Genetic Causal Association Between Asthma and Delirium: A Bidirectional Two‐Sample Mendelian Randomization

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 2, February 2026.
Mendelian randomization (MR) study finds no genetic evidence supporting a causal relationship between asthma and delirium across all age groups, challenging previous observational associations. ABSTRACT Introduction Despite observational studies suggesting a link between asthma and delirium, establishing a definitive causal relationship has been ...

Effective Connectivity Reveals Dual‐Route Mechanism of Visual Prediction Precision via Insula and Pulvinar

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 2, February 1, 2026.
Using 7‐Tesla fMRI and dynamic causal modelling (DCM), we identified a dual‐route mechanism for high‐precision predictions: direct excitatory modulation from the insula to V1, and indirect inhibitory modulation from the insula to V1 via the pulvinar.

Gender Differences in Social Cognition and Their Association With Functioning in Individuals With Non‐Affective Psychosis

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Psychology, Volume 82, Issue 2, Page 161-168, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Previous studies in non‐affective psychosis (NAP) consistently found that patients' functioning is associated with social cognition and gender, with higher functioning in female patients. This study investigated the impact of social cognition on the relationship between gender and functioning, and examined psychometric properties of

Exploring the principles of logotherapy in genetic counseling: Enhancing decision‐making, adaptation, and justice

open access: yesJournal of Genetic Counseling, Volume 35, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract Logotherapy is a psychological approach originated by Viktor Frankl, shaped by the thesis that meaning can be discovered even in the most tragic of human circumstances, and through a human's will‐to‐meaning, that individuals have both freedom and responsibility to discover meanings in the moment and ultimate meanings from their unique ...

Cognitive Profiles in Adolescents and Young Adults With Co‐Occurring Autism and First‐Episode Psychosis: A Preliminary Neuropsychological Investigation

open access: yesPsyCh Journal, Volume 15, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and psychosis are traditionally considered distinct psychiatric conditions with divergent developmental trajectories, yet emerging evidence suggests they may share overlapping neurodevelopmental characteristics.

Patient Participation in Clinical Ethics Interventions: A Requirement of Procedural and Epistemic Justice

open access: yesBioethics, Volume 40, Issue 2, Page 159-167, February 2026.
ABSTRACT The question whether or not patients ought to be involved in clinical ethics interventions (CEI) remains unresolved. While generally it has been recognized that patients’ active participation in health care decisions and processes is important, this is not unequivocally accepted for CEIs.
