New Cell for DEMS Applicable to Different Electrode Sizes

Electrocatalysis, 2011
Present approaches to use simple crystal electrodes for DEMS have certain disadvantages: Thin layer cells with defined diffusion and/or convection require large single discs of 1 cm diameter; also, a part of the crystal surface has to be pressed against a spacer. Other approaches, which allow the use of small bead crystals, have the disadvantage of ill-

Uncertainty of SWAT model at different DEM resolutions in a large mountainous watershed

Water Research, 2014
The objective of this study was to enhance understanding of the sensitivity of the SWAT model to the resolutions of Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) based on the analysis of multiple evaluation indicators. The Xiangxi River, a large tributary of Three Gorges Reservoir in China, was selected as the study area.

Discussion on the Difference of the Grain Particle Parameters in Reality and DEM

2016
The discrete element method was widely used in analyzing mechanics and movement behaviors of grain particle in recent years. An application of the method in the field of grains was presented in this paper. The experiment and simulation about the angle of corn indicates that the particle shape cannot be ignored in discrete element simulations, as well ...

Multi-Scale DEM Generalization Processing in Different Landform Areas

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
As a special kind of image, the grid-based digital elevation model (DEM) is directly related with the landform and topography feature. In the real word, there are various landforms, and the results of different methods for DEM processing vary greatly. However, the discussion of using different methods in different landform areas in DEM generalization ...

Effect of differing DEM creation methods on the results from a hydrological model

Computers & Geosciences, 2007
It is known that digital elevation models (DEMs) can vary in quality depending on their method of creation. Six DEMs derived from digitised contours from the British Ordnance Survey were compared. The DEMs were used to run TOPMODEL for a small catchment in Devon.

Comparison of Various DEMs for Height Accuracy Assessment Over Different Terrains of India

IGARSS 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2019
In this paper, the height accuracy of various DEMs such as TanDEM-X Global DEM, newly released TanDEM-X 90 m DEM, TanDEM-X ascending or descending DEM, SRTM 30 m, 90 m DEMs, provisional version of the NASADEM, and the aerial LiDAR DEM are assessed over three different Indian terrains.

DEM Studies on the Liquefaction Behavior of Particles With Different Aspect Ratios

2018
Discrete element method (DEM) provides insight into the fundamental physical principles leading to a better understanding of the complex behavior of granular materials under different loading conditions. In the reported studies adopting DEM, real particle shape is ignored, and the particles are modeled as spheres. Spherical shapes are preferred as they

Experimental and DEM Examinations of K0 in Sand under Different Loading Conditions

Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, 2014
AbstractThis paper reports K0 of dry sand in response to different loading conditions and under secondary compression. The experiments were carried out using an oedometer and tactile pressure sensors were used to measure the horizontal stress for K0 calculations. During loading, K0 remains a constant as the vertical stress σv′ increases.
