Incentives for demand-side management [PDF]
This report is the first product of an ongoing project to monitor the efforts of states to remove regulatory barriers to, and provide financial incentives for, utility investment in demand-side management (DSM) resources. The project was commissioned by the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) in response to growing interest

Safe control of thermostatically controlled loads with installed timers for demand side management
We develop safe protocols for thermostatically controlled loads (TCLs) to provide power pulses to the grid without a subsequent oscillatory response.

Progress on the demand side management in smart grid and optimization approaches
The integration of demand side management (DSM) with smart grid (SG) can facilitate residents' transfer into smart homes and sustainable cities by reducing the carbon emission. This manuscript reviews the recent works related to the application of DSM in

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Demand-side management for smart grid via diffusion adaptation
This study presents a novel fully distributed and cooperative demand side management framework based on adaptive diffusion strategy. In this approach, each customer autonomously and without any need for the global information, minimises his incommodity ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
