The availability of improved data will determine whether the search for new methodologies, which are more accurate than present ones for determining fertiliser demand, is successful. The author briefly reviews various ways of estimating fertiliser demand and emphasises the need for analysts to make clear the assumptions and limitations of the methods ...

Estimating Nonmotorized Travel Demand
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2007The modeling of nonmotorized travel demand has mostly been conducted at the large spatial level (e.g., city, county, or census tract level) by using data from the Bureau of the Census and the National Household Travel Survey. This paper introduces a modeling approach for estimating the mode share of nonmotorized trips by using data from multiple ...

Unit substation demand estimator
2006 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2006This paper describes the design and implementation of a unit substation demand estimator (USDE). The paper presents various methods for the estimation of missing data measurements in a 4kV distribution network. Each method is tested in detail to validate the accuracy of the estimated data and an estimation process strategy is suggested.

LACK of knowledge of demand curves for particular commodities has been a troublesome problem for marketing practitioners and economists. Some economists have felt that microeconomic price theory under conditions of monopolistic competition is of limited usefulness because it is based on a false assumption of sellers' knowledge of average revenue curves.

On Demand Mobility Cargo Demand Estimation
2018Recent developments in the shipping industry have opened some unprecedented trade opportunities on various levels. Be it individual consumption or business needs, the thought of receiving a package on the same day or within 4-hour from some other business or industry in the urban area is worth appreciating. The congestion on ground transportation modes

Household Water Demand Estimation
1994This working paper addresses the issues: 1) whether there is a simultaneous equations problem when estimating demand for water with multipart rate schedules and, if there is one, what techniques should be used to correct for it; and 2) whether average or marginal price is the relevant measure in estimating the demand function. In addition, the issue is
