Optimal Planning of Integrated Electricity-Gas System With Demand Side Management

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The demand side management (DSM) measures are designed to process a large number of controllable loads of different types in the multi-energy system, which is helpful to increase the sustainability of the overall energy system.

Agent-based control for decentralised demand side management in the smart grid

open access: yes, 2011
Central to the vision of the smart grid is the deployment of smart meters that will allow autonomous software agents, representing the consumers, to optimise their use of devices and heating in the smart home while interacting with the grid.

Robust Worst-Case Analysis of Demand-Side Management in Smart Grids

open access: yes, 2016
Demand-side management presents significant benefits in reducing the energy load in smart grids by balancing consumption demands or including energy generation and/or storage devices in the user's side. These techniques coordinate the energy load so that

Demand-Side Management Programs Under Retail Electricity Competition [PDF]

open access: yes
Demand-side management programs comprise subsidies from franchised electric utilities for the purchase of high-efficiency appliances, e.g., air conditioners. Competition in power generation threatens the viability of these programs.

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Impact of energy price scheme and rewarding strategies on mobilizing the flexibility of residential end-users and aggregator’s profit

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
In incentive-based demand response programs, the aggregator sends reward signals to the consumers to stimulate consumption changes for mobilizing their flexibility in energy end-uses, which can then be traded in different markets.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Cost-Effectiveness of Electricity Energy Efficiency Programs [PDF]

open access: yes
We analyze the cost-effectiveness of electric utility ratepayer-funded programs to promote demand-side management (DSM) and energy efficiency (EE) investments. We specify a model that relates electricity demand to previous EE DSM spending, energy prices,
