Foraging Behaviour Patterns of Four Sympatric Demersal Fishes
Estuarine, Coastal and Shelf Science, 1999The trophic relationships of four sympatric demersal fish species ( Mullus barbatus , Mullus surmuletus , Pagrus pagrus and Gobius niger ) which dominate the shallow coastal areas (25–30 m) of Iraklion Bay (S Aegean, NE Mediterranean) were investigated from samples collected on a monthly basis (August 1990–August 1992).

Deepwater Demersal Fish Community Collapse in Lake Huron
Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, 2008AbstractLong‐term fish community surveys were carried out in the Michigan waters of Lake Huron using bottom trawls from 1976 to 2006. Trends in abundance indices for common species (those caught in 10% or more of trawl tows) were estimated for two periods: Early (1976‐1991) and late (1994‐2006).

Deep demersal fishes in the Canary Islands
2023Some remarks about deep-sea demersal species of fishes captured in fishery prospections from La Gomera, Gran Canaria and Tenerife (Canary Islands) between 300-2500 m depth are given. Long-lines and experimental traps were used during the cruises. Twenty-five species werre collected.

Are Larvae of Demersal Fishes Plankton or Nekton?
2006A pelagic larval stage is found in nearly all demersal marine teleost fishes, and it is during this pelagic stage that the geographic scale of dispersal is determined. Marine biologists have long made a simplifying assumption that behaviour of larvae--with the possible exception of vertical distribution--has negligible influence on larval dispersal ...

Recent Scottish data on demersal fish selectivity
No abstracts are to be cited without prior reference to the author. The FRS Marine Laboratory has conducted 14 seleciivity cruises in ICES areas IVa and Via over the period 1992 to 1998 using single boat trawls, pair trawls, pair seines and twin trawls. Each individual experiment studied the effect on selectivity of one or more variables describing cod ...Ferro, R. S. T., Graham, G. N.

Demersal fish resources in untrawlable waters, viewed through vertical-line fishing
1977Rocky reefs (80-120 m. in depth) along shoulders of steep continental slope in the South China Sea and the Andaman Sea often provide potentially good fishing grounds. Demersal fish resources in these reefs, having quite different species composition from those in trawl fishing grounds, have been scarcely exploited so far.
